Go near the boards, bank it off of them, and go around the d on the other side to retrieve the puck lol.

I don't have great hands, but my shot is above average. If I'm going in 1-on-1, I'll usually just use the dman as a screen and take a good wrist shot/backhander. Not the fanciest move, but it's pretty effective.

My only real moves I have in that situation are to:

1) Drive wide around the defender. Usually consists of me half-faking going one way to freeze them just enough and then using my explosiveness to pull to the other side and skate around him.

2) Putting it in the skates and pushing it ahead while going around the defender. The only real time I've used this move if I get going too fast and am in tight on a defender or confident enough I can do that. Hardly ever use it.

3) Use defender as a screen shoot either around or between their legs, followed up by driving hard to the net to chase after the rebound. I find it effective, Ovechkin uses this technique and it works pretty well with defenders that aren't great on their skates.

However, I hardly ever get into 1-on-1 situations because it's not really my game. I do get a lot of breakaway chances though. Other than that, I just like to drive hard to the net, shoot for rebounds or make some moves in the attacking zone.
