Terrible period for us.

What was Liivik doing on the ice during the PP?

Czech announcers are actually pretty good at pronouncing Finnish names.

Granlund's been bad. I thought he wasn't capable to play this badly... Here's to hoping it's just pre-season coma he's having.

Gotta say HIFK looks pretty bad from what I can see on the choppy stream, guy shot 3ft wide on what was pretty much a clear path to the goal.

Earlier a guy was all alone in front of the net and either whiffed on the pass right through his skates or decided to let it go through him which would have been a terrible decision so he had to have whiffed on the pass.

Granlund scores with the Forsberg move in the shootout.

HIFK win 3-2 Granlund with the only goal in the shootout.

Yup, though i don't think you could expect anything else from a Line consisting of:

3rd line grinder-Kid- JuniorA player

Was father Peltonen playing? Didn't notice him at all.

Been the best team so far in the European trophy. Dominated the Elitserien (SEL) teams easily.

HIFK is a top 5 or top 3 team in all of Europe.

To be honest I wasn't too impressed by Granlund's play today in that stream. He didn't do anything bad, per se, but didn't stand out much beyond the shootout. My expectations are a bit too high I guess haha

You might want to elaborate on that one kid.

Seen HIFK-Luleå, HIFK-Djurgården so far live this season and those teams were completely trembled by IFK.

I know it's just the European trophy, but that's really the only thing in which we can compare European leagues to each other.

Damn rookie users always making stupid comments without backing up their words

Terrible game by him today. He'll bounce back. Don't worry.

He did many things badly. And don't take me wrong, i'm a big Granlund-fan but this was maybe the worst game I've seen from him. He waited too long before making decisions, gave the puck up too easily - just looked out of place. Anyway, the raports say that he hasn't been this way in his all pre-season games so I'm sure he'll be okay in the near future.

Micke Åsten the undrafted 2011 draftee was best player of the game, yesterday. Suprised with his offensive skills+ his work ethic is insane, i remember that work ethic at U-18 from last year.

Granlund scored the game winning goal in European Trophy game against Tappara, the final result was 3-2. I didn't see the goal myself, just saw an article from MTV3.fi

Yeah, he made the MTV, or Mainostelevisio as it is Finland.

He also got an assist on the first goal. So 1+1. The game-winning 3-2 goal was a shorthanded goal.

He's strong playoff player and clutch player. When the stakes are highest you can expect something from Granlund.

So 2 games is enough to say they are top 3 or 5 in Europe now? and btw a lot of Finnish teams won Elitserien teams this offseason...and JYP won two top teams from KHL... they are just preseason games. It's hard to evaluate the leagues/teams anyway and even more harder in preseason time.

I'm hoping Granlund to have injury free season and to get some more muscle to his frame this season. But I hope nothing but bad for IFK

I don't think that IFK gonna win the regular season, i would bet my money on JYP. Jokerit looks quite strong aswell. Great chemistry on top 6.
