I would like a decent prospect and a 3rd.

you'd be lucky to get an AHLer and a 7th... EC is useless

Hope springs eternal, I suppose.

This is a late 20's kid who is one dimensional, inconsistent, and has never topped 33 points so i'm willing to bet that the decent prospect would be the hanging up point on that deal.

I think the third alone would be a sticking point. Realistically he's worth a 5th or later and thats it OR a middle of the road never making the NHL [probably] prospect and thats it

Habs Christensen
The Canadiens continue to pursue Erik Christensen...and I have said it before, but if Gauthier can pull this move off I predict it will go down as his best trade to date in his tenure as GM in Montreal.

he knows EC was a waiver claim and actually cleared once completely right?

If anything the Yotes are a bit in a bind. Christensen would be a good fit there I guess. Phoenix has alot of new faces up front like Bolduc, Chipchura, Gordon, Nokelainen, Torres, and Pouliot. I would assume this would be for a pick or prospect since our lineup is pretty set. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Christensen for Stempniak trade and possibly move him to the left wing to create some competition at the top.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'll say its for a non-roster player or pick.

I would assume that Christensen for Stempniak would require that we sweeten the deal with something along the lines of a 2nd or 3rd.

Lee has a 1.9 hit, 1 year left on his deal. Could definitely hit 20 goals. I'd be somewhat interested if the price is low.

And where's he going to play? And with what cap space are we going to actually add salary when moving Christensen?

We should be looking at moving Christensen for a mid round pick or equivalent prospect, and be happy to get such a return for a guy who is unlikely to have a spot on our roster.

Where does he play and why wouldn't we have signed a similar player instead of dealing a pick?

I assume you are talking about Stempniak? He is a RW and is good for at least 15 goals. He is American and I feel he would be a good fit on our 3rd line. I'd rather have Stemp than Zucc on the 3rd line.

Fedotenko-Stepan-Stempniak would be a very nice 3rd line.

Stempniak put up 28 goals 2 seasons ago and 19 last year. I'm sure we'd find him a spot.

Would fill out the 3rd line nicely.

No wonder he has bad self esteem. He probably reads these boards.

Such as my proposal above. Feds-Stepan-Stempniak would be a very nice 3rd line

Don't forget Taylor Pyatt as well...big bodied left winger...he and EC had similar years.

It would.

I do have to say that getting Stempniak would probably take more than Erik Christensen, however.

I like Christ as a depth player - great in the shoot out too.

What would Christ and Del Zotto get us?

From Phoenix, I have no idea, their most valuable players are their young guys like Turris and Boedker. Although no point to trade DZ for one of them, he is our only hope for PMD right now. I'd love to get Boedker or Turris, just not for DZ

We could fit him, but it would be tight, and would guarantee that Zucc doesn't make the team. I'd rather just trade EC for a pick.

I'd rather Stemp than Zucc at this point
