History question

With the dozens and dozens of legends that have played in Montreal, in the eyes of the fans, who are the 3 most popular players that ever wore that sweater? Not the best, but who are the three that the fan base say, "Those are Canadiens"?

If I guessed Beliveau at #1, would that be accurate?

The Rocket would be #1, then Beliveau. Lafleur, Roy & Morenz

Awards:
Won't argue the popular picks here.

1. M. Richard
2. Beliveau
3. Lafleur

Although H. Richard is not too far behind the pack. Neither is Dryden.

Lafleur is clearly ahead of Béliveau in term of fanbase.
Béliveau is well-respected but fans aren't as crazy about him than they are about Flower.

You might be right but I respectfully disagree.

It's Richard, Beliveau and then Lafleur.

This is also my top 3, although from 4-10, there could be some interesting debates.

The first 3 i whole heartedly agree with, But Roy as #4 on the list?
Darkest days of the organization.............

Robinson, Harvey, Plante, Dryden, Gainey, Blake and others all rate above Roy in my humble opinion.
Even though he won 4 cups only 2 were here, add to that he was the one who left in a melodramatic snit. no thx i can do without

Howie Morenz and Newsy Lalonde were HUGELY POPULAR and will most likely be out of most top 5 lists.

And to the guy who put Durnan in his top 10, Durnan was not so popular in Montreal. He often would hear the chant 'Bibeau' from the forum stands.

I'd say it would probably be:

1 - Maurice Richard
2 - Howie Morenz
3 - Jean Beliveau

Followed by (in no particular order) Harvey, Lafleur, Roy, Blake, Robinson, Gainey and some might even make a case for Saku Koivu in the top 10.

Dryden #1 just cause I have 2 of his sticks he used during games, signed by him

But nah, I agree with this list that CS and others have said.
