Perhaps we can go back to talking about Matthew Lombardi's hockey playing abilities?

I knew some people from Hudson and St.Lazare. They're anglophones,
but can use French, due to the education system.

We may noy have that true first line center, but if Lambo is healthy, we have three real good second line centers. Can't wait to get this season started!

Very good on the PK.

He's pretty much a speedy two-way center. Perfect for our third line.

I really wanted the Leafs to get him two summers ago.
Is he a Physical force? Does he have that in his game?

Aquilani will make our midfield stronger; though no one can replace Pirlo.

Not at all, he's listed at 5'11" but looks smaller than that on the ice. He's got unreal speed, a good compete level, and is decent with the puck, think a Grabovski type player but with worse finish. If he can get back to his pre-concussion level he'd be a great 3rd line C, or even a decent 2nd line C.

Connolly/Grabo/Lombardi would be a MUCH better top 3 centers than what we had last year (Bozak/Grabovski/Brent), but their health concerns me. Connolly is healthy now, but very injury prone, while Lombardi had a very serious concussion that he's still not over nearly a year later. A healthy Connolly/Grabo/Lombardi would be the best C rotation we've had in a long time, but guys with the injury history of Connolly and Lombardi in a sport as physical as hockey is no small problem.

we have a couple, actually.

Aulie is probably the one that comes to mind when you say 'unstoppable' because of his size (see KO on Hartnell last year and how he ragdolled that Flordia guy).

Phaneuf and Schenn are both big hitters, Phaneuf being one of the best in open ice. Komisarek as well if he's on his game(and in the line-up).

There's always Colton. Brown is a tough little *******.

we have toughness. we need skill, which Lombardi brings with a tonne of speed(Kessel speed, maybe faster)

Here's the audio of the interview.

http://crashthecrease.com/wp-content...r-20110829.mp3

He sounds way more upbeat and clear headed than he did when he gave the interview a little bit after the trade. Sounds like a great guy.

Yeah true, they are tuff but that's like 4 or 5 out of 21 players.. I think he should somehow get more skilled tough PF's since he always talks about toughness. Our line 1 is so soft with no size at all.. actually our Top 2 lines have no size really

He will, but I was hoping for a huge signing in the vein of Ibra last August, but who knows what Berlusconi has in mind.

As for Lombardi, I could see him as a great option on the 2nd PP unit playing with Kulemin and Arm Dog perhaps, relieving some pressure from Connolly and Kessel. That is, once he returns. I still have my doubts whether he can put it all together again because of the nature of such an injury, but he seems to be a great guy who is really motivated to impress with the Leafs.

Anyone know who he was a fan of growing up?

while not necessarily tough, Kulemin and Lupul aren't small and do the dirty work in the corners and in front.

Believe me, I'd love to get a Lucic for our team, but they are simply a very uncommon thing. Hopefully in a couple years Tyler Biggs can be that type of player, until then we will make do with these guys.

i'm sure crosby's health concerns pens fans as well..
you can never be too certain but we'll take our chances with those 3. lombardi is doing much better now. i'm sure he won't be rushed.

Kind of unprofessional of Vendetta to just blatantly ask a married man about 'how hot the broads are down there'

Nope.
Northerners tend to be more elitist, or superior to their countrymen to the south. Often wanting no business with them; which is sad.
