Stupid LEAFS AD on the newspaper

Grade 3-4 class picture.
Everyone is sitting/standing on one end of a bench.
On the other side is a lonesome kid wearing a habs jersey.

Caption: (Leafs logo) "The passion that unites us"

I guess the leafs gave up on the cup and now wanna take shots at a team that is viewed by most as middle-of-the-pack.

thoughts?

That ad is outside a building near my house. I absolutely love it. When I look at that poster, I see that kid as me, standing alone in my convictions while the sheep continue to support the loser leafs. As a kid, I had even more reason to feel this way, since we always won and they always lost. I want one of those posters for my house.

I haven't seen it, but it sounds harmless enough. That being said, I doubt that the Canadiens would do it.

You should walk downtown TO with your habs jersey on, holding the poster with a disdainful smirk on your face(as long as it doesn't get you killed of course).

I've never been shy about wearing my Hab stuff around the city. Most Hab fans make a point of it.

I'm sure everybody notice the message on every NHL ice (Thank you fans). One that is different from others is Toronto's. (Thank you Leafs fans).

All other team says (Thank you fans)

Good for you. I do the same here in Calgary but they don't have quite the animosity towards the Habs as I suspect that the TO fans would have.

Might have something to do with being the only team to ever win a cup in Montreal.

Ah, but you forget that the rest of the world doesn't exist outside of TO. What a pathetic thing to do when all the other clubs are thanking and trying to make ammends to all fans.

Count me as one of those fans, I live in downtown Toronto and I relish the opportunity to wear my Habs garb.

Maybe, but we also beat them for the cup on home ice in '86.

Well, there are a lot of Habs fans there, given the CP Rail move.

The most problems I ever got wearing my Habs stuff in Calgary was from the Leafs fans that also got punted down there.

I'm actually surprised how often I get an, "Alright," or, "Habs Rule," whenever I wear my stuff out about town. There are definately a lot of us Habs fans around.
