- ESPN Hockey pool (free live tracker)
- Active members only, preferably members with 1000+ posts
- Be active in the league and open to trades

Now please give your input:

- H2H (head to head) vs Rotisserie?
- Keeper or not?
- What stats should be counted?
- What's a good number of people?
- Draft? Live or not? If we could all meet online at the same time?

Everyone who hasn't done so, please PM me your e-mail, and join the league ASAP.

Members, start discussing draft options:

1) Online draft (everyone meets at the same time)
Pro: Done instantly
Con: Long process, especially with 20 players.

2) Offline draft (everyone picks one after the other on the boards)
Pro: Can be done over time
Con: Long process

If we do online, would Sunday be good?
If we do offline, it should be 24 hours between pick, but members should NOT take the full 24 hours.

Online sunday is good for me.

Offline with a 12h limit and if some night we try to all be avaliable for a couple of hours, why not.

Goals Against Average (GAA)*
*Minimum 60 GS

Easy now, 20 teams, that is 40 goalies, maybe more. Last year only 13 goalies played more than 60 games. There should be no limit IMO.

I also think that the limit of games per slot should be a little higher. If not, what is your bench for? Why not reward the active member? There is already a limit for the waivers and let's be honest, past the 360th player, there isn't much left...

also, here's my opinion:
No +/- stats
no PIM
yes to hits
YES to blocked shots

also, lower the acquisition limit to 20. Just draft smart and use the IR if necessary.

But I'll be happy with wathever you guys decide

Maybe I'm not understanding it correctly, but I believed that that it was overall games started. As in, you can't have your 2 goalies play a total of 40 games and have super stats, you must play those goalies for 60 games (30-30, 40-20, 50-10 etc.). It's not games started per goalie.

I don't understand the second part. If I limit (as an exmaple) center slots to less than 82 games, it would mean having some of your centers not play all their games. I always thought the bench was to have extra players and forcing the manager to pick between players. In any case, this is how I saw it:

Say your team has:

2x C, RW, LW
3 Forward: C, C, RW
3 Bench: RW, LW, LW

So basically 4 of each or 12 total.

Now you can only play: 2 x C, RW, LW + 3 F = 9 F x 82 games = 738 games.
Rather than 12 x 82 = 984 games.

So you would have to miss out on 246 games played by your forwards.

Obviously a balanced team would have 1 or 2 D's, but it comes back to the same concept, you'd have to choose between your D's at that time.

I'm willing to take off PIMs, but I thought +/- would reward people with better defensive players. I know I hate it because I'm usually a "pure offense" kind of guy. I'd like to hear from others regarding the categories.

This is great guys, keep it up.

About the draft, online would be great if we could get a majority together all at once. The offline one would take way too long (380 picks or so, and waiting time in between? eesh).

Also there is around 24-28 weeks in a season, roughly. So how about 30 waiver transactions, around 1-1.5 per week? In any case you have only 100$ to auction for waivers, so there is a price to pay.

I think I don't understand exactly how that whole waiver thing works.

You have 100$ to spend on waivers.

If Jussi Jokinen is on fire and everyone is bidding for him:

Player 1 bids 2$
Player 2 bids 5$
Player 3 bids 10$

Player 3 picks up Jussi Jokinen, but loses 10$ (left with 90$). Player 1 and 2 don't lose anything.

You have 100$ to spend on waivers for the whole season and must choose how much you value a player over another, and how much your opponents value said player too.

Obviously if no one else shows interest in Jussi, and you bid 0$, you get him for free.

----

Either that, or we scratch this and make it so waivers follow the reverse order of ranking.

I'm good for an Online draft too, but am away for the long weekend. Any way it gets pushed back to Monday or next weekend? If not, can I pre-rank my players?
