Come on Fitzy, clearly he is just leveraging this to get a larger signing bonus from the B's.

Which means the only players of note that were not there are Staal, Sauer, and Gaborik.

Glad to see Kreider there. It's only a four hour drive from Boxford, tops, so it's good to see he was willing to do that just to get some time in with the team.

Hes been in Westchester for a few weeks now practicing at different places. My buddy has a skated with him a few times. Interesting he is practicing down here outside of the informal skates with the team

i agree it doesnt really look like kreider in the blue jersey in the pic posted (even though it came from the Rangers twitter)...I saw Kreider play a handful of times last year since his team (BC) plays my school (UMass) and that just doesnt look like him. Hes taller with a thinner frame. He might be in the background of that pic but the player up close looks more like Sauer.

Sauer learned how to play left handed now?

I'm preeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure the Rangers didn't post a picture of Sauer and accidentally say it is Kreider. Especially since Sauer didn't convert to left-handanism

Guessing these were the 21 there today based on Jim and Zip's blog's/Tweets
No Staal, Fedotenko, Prust, MZA, Sauer, Gaborik.

I think everyone else is there....

And those players may be there but not skating....

Feds has been skating in Montreal a lot this summer if I'm not mistaken.

No that has to be him. The other players have the NYR shorts on. He can't get a pair as it might affect his NCAA eligibility so he is wearing the team USA shorts

And Feds is skating in montreal. Heard that as well.

Surprised Zucc wasn't on the ice as I know he is here

I heard from a friend that Zucc skated in the mens league in Hackensack last week... so he's in the area.

MZA may have been skating all summer though so it may not be as big of a deal for him to be skating. Like I said, some other players may be around but they may be working out in the gym and doing off-ice stuff instead of skating.

Jim Cerny is doing a webchat with Bourque right now. While waiting for Bourque, he answered some questions. Here's what he had to say about Kreider:

Quote:
Kredier really looked good...his skating ability is off the charts...and he made some awesome offensive moves and passes in the scrimmage today
Quote:
I will say that you watch Kreider and the other NYR prospects and, to me, there is no comparison...Kreider is THE TOP prospect in the organization
Quote:
Kreider told me that he went back to school for educational purposes, of course, but he also wanted to be better prepared hockey-wise when he turns pro...thought he needed more experience, hasn't played enough games...interesting comment, I thought
And something on MDZ:

Quote:
MDZ was out there working hard...he has a very serious approach this year, that's for sure...he needs a very strong camp bc I think the coaches believe he needs more time in AHL...but he could be here on opening night too...needs really big camp

wow that's about the best review one could hope for. And seeing that his skating was off the charts and good passing skills while playing with NHLers speaks volume for his skills.

So stoked to see how he does at BC this year.

The good thing about what Jim is saying is that it is mostly the truth. I've taken part in live chats and he isn't afraid to say a player looked bad or that a player is likely to be cut, such as EC. He speaks his mind a lot in the chat. So, while he could be stretching it a tad bit, what he is saying about Kreider is most likely the truth, which is good to hear.

Good.

Have to make sure he doesn't pull anything.

“What happened to me last year is in the past. It didn’t go as I would have liked and there’s no need to look back on it,” Del Zotto said from his offseason home in Stouffville. “I’m excited about the upcoming season and I’m going to go into training camp with the mind set that I had when I was a rookie — to show the (Rangers) coaching staff I still belong and I have nothing to lose and to fight for a spot.

Lol hearing people talk about Richards and Gabby you'd think they were high school kids who should be dating but never seem to get together.

Glad to hear Kreider showing he has some semblence of interest in NY. Surprised hes not in Boston jacking off to their cup win.
