History Will Be Made, um, EHM Style

www.thesweetness.org

You think you're a good GM, eh?

We just finished 2005 and the Sharks defeated the Bruins in the finals after the Bruins won their first 14 games of the playoffs.
My Red Wings team won the Western Conference but bowed out to the Sharks in 6 games in Round 2. Unlike Ken Holland, I made changes. I traded Franzen, Koivu, Ballard and Hanzal for Ovechkin. Might be a mistake

Anyway, our 30 team dynasty league is really picking up in the activity department. The 25 GMs we have are great. But we have five teams without management right now.

If you have NHL EHM 2005, check us out.

We have openings in
Minnesota: Troubled team after the last GM forgot to qualify Koivu. Still, there are some interesting players here for a rebuilt.
Colorado: Lots of good vets and lots of good youngsters. Can compete now with some tweaking.
Dallas Stars: Conference finalist last year. Might have made it to the finals and won, but 4 of the six defenseman were hurt in the conference finals. GM took over Toronto.
New York Islanders: Solid team with a good mix of veterans and kids.
New York Rangers: Henrik Lundquist in goal is an equalizer

Season begins Tuesday.

One team remaining
We're down the Islanders. We'll probably wipe Yashin right off the books, because that Franchise is tough enough even without that albatross around your neck.
Any EHM experts out there up for a challenge?
We're gunning for a Sunday start!

We're about to start.
We're pumped.
But we need a few more GMs

Minnesota -- Burns, Koivu ... and then it's a little dicey
Calgary -- good strong team with good defense, Iginla, and Kipper
Rangers -- Not bad. Lundquist helps
Islanders -- Yashin's salary reduced to a more manageable $5.5M, but this team still has some issues

Maybe Boston. Maybe Montreal.

Get in on the Ground Floor.
We're at Oct. 16, 2005. Crosby, Ryan Whitney and a first just got traded to Vancouver for the Sedins, Kesler, Mason Raymond and Kevin Bieksa...
BLOCKBUSTER

Anyway, we need GMs for:
New York Islanders
Tampa Bay Lightning

And Maybe
Nashville

HALFWAY THROUGH SEASON ONE
The SSHL has three management positions open.

Colorado is a team with great veterans like Sakic and Hejduk and up-and-coming prospect like Stastny. The team could challenge for the cup this year with the right GM.

Ottawa is definitely a thread to come out of the east with Heatley, Spezza and Alfreddson, and guys like Chara, Redden, Philips and Hasek dedicated to keeping the other team from scoring.

The Islanders, as the recent GM proved, can be a competitive team. Yashin's salary was dropped a bit. Mark Parrish scores insane amounts of goals.

If you're interested, register and sign up at http://thesweetness.org/?q=node/68.

The SuperSweet Hockey League NHL EHM 2005 has openings in six franchises.
You MUST have NHL EHM 2005 to play (the patched 2.1.3 demo will work for online play)

This is dynasty GM gaming at its best. If you like EHM and think you're a pretty good GM, try your luck against 29 other GMs who like EHM and think they are pretty good.

We're looking for ACTIVE gms who are will check in on a regular basis. Once-a-weekers need not apply.
Apply here: http://thesweetness.org/?q=node/68

We are a non-live sim league. We sim each night about 10 p.m. eastern and have a brief chat over MSN while the sim is running. It's a great way to have an active league without giving up 90 minutes of your day each day.

We are about to start the 2005-06 playoffs and the upcoming draft is 50-60 players deep. More than 500 players have been tweaked, edited or created for this database to provide a bit more realism, making this version of EHM a bit more fun than the traditional game.

Here are the teams:

Atlanta — Hossa, Savard, Kovalchuk and a great assort of prospects like Enstrom, Lavalaee, Pavelec, etc. Playing in the SE, the Thrashers can compete for the division easily.

Colorado — Good vets like Sakic and Hejduk and Tanguay. Lots of good prospects, like Wolski and Stastny. Poised to compete now and in the future.

NYI — The Islanders are a surprisingly solid team that is made more GM-friendly by Yashin's reduced contract. This team can compete NOW. When we had a good GM in place, they were gaining on the Penguins for the top spot in the East.

St. Louis — Team in transition, going bye bye are guys like Weight. Guys like Backes and Oshie are the new breed. A high pick in the upcoming 2006 draft should yield a franchise player.

Tampa — Tons of good veteran talent. Giguere in goal. St. Louis, Vinny LC up front. Boyle on D. Lots to like. But the cap will make things difficult and the team lacks prospects. This draft will remedy that, however. The Bolts can be a cup competitor for several years with their core.

Edmonton — Team close to the cap with lots of veteran stars, like Lidstrom and Doan. May need a rebuild.

Congrats to Simon, who GM'ed the Sharks to a victory over the Bruins to win the 2006 Stanley Cup.
Season II begins now.
We have openings in Dallas and Long Island.

Hey, we need an Oilers GM for our EHM 2005 league. This is a FRANCHISE KEEPER league. The current GM just resigned to take over Philly.
Good young goalie in Lehtonen.
Good defense with Lidstrom, Hamrlik, Gorges and company.
FOrwards include Vinny Lavalier, Hejduk, Selanne, and Drew Stafford.
Best prospects are Liam Reddox, Jason Demers, Brendan Mikkelson, Patrick Thoresen, Taylor Chorney, Zach stortini, Devyn Dubnuk, David FIscher and Eric Fehr.
Sign up at www.thesweetness.org, or send me a PM.
You must have NHL EHM 2005 to play ... a trial version atleast...
