I remember when phaneuf was cut in the calf...HNIC did a story on a thin but protective layer that players could be wearing on their lower bodies to avoid skates cutting them. Don't see why this isnt standard issue amongst players.

Gagner's cut was freak, but a cut to the calf or thigh seems very preventable

Klefbom was unlucky enough to get cut on his thigh by an ice skate, the wound was sewn with ten stitches, and when the stitches were removed there was an infection. Now Klefbom is on penicillin which also prohibits him from playing.

A standard dose of antibiotics tends to run 10 days, so hopefully Klefbom will not be out too much longer, or there should be news relatively soon.

These are the keys for me. Would appear that he probably could play, but isn't allowed to. Far better then the Gagner or Souray deal. At this point anyway.

I'd think that the Oilers have to be looking at this and almost making it mandatory. They can't afford to have stupid injuries like this.

Hey, I like that idea. Might as well get something for them while their value is high, right?

Leg zippers undone?

I know all the cool kids do it.

Didn't Niinimaa get cut on the thigh for that reason a long time ago?

Hall, Jones, Peckham, and Lander were at the Caps game last night. I was just waiting for one of them to get drilled by a foul ball.

I think we need to sacrifice something like a virgin or something. Tossing BBO into a volcano or something or something is needed. These injruy woes need to end

Great idea! There are lots and lots of volcanoes around where BBO lives! About time someone around here put on the thinking cap.

It might come as a surprise to some but I am not a virgin and if someone wants to throw me in a Volcano may I suggest contacting your armed forces because if not you'll be the one going for a lava bath

To avoid these problems we should create a registry of virgins and not virgins. Everyone PM TheStig your sexual history.... Go!

Oh Mighty Toppep, we beseech thee, grant us our boon of a (relatively) injury free season for your devoted children, the Edmonton Oilers. In return we offer up BBO, who we're told (by him) isn't a virgin, though he is an HFmod, so we know it amounts to the same thing . Please give us a sign that this sacrifice is worthy!

All praises to thee!

Sorry BBO, couldn't resist.

I still say we toss BBO in the volcano as a sacrifice to the hockey gods to rid us of this course

Btw. BBO. Sheep don't count

Are you referring to the means of losing one's virginity? No Saskatchewan jokes please.
