Yes, But I RESPECTFULLY state this and not in a funny nor joking way. I unfortunately would have to put Boogaard and Rypien on the list of "retired" since they were active players who unfortunately and VERY sadly lost their lives this year. The 2010-2011 would be the final season they played.

Heartbreaking about both of them.

AND I read today Wade Belak passed away at 30' something years of age?! I just cant take it anymore. 3 good people lost their lives and probably to the same thing. Prescription Medication/Alcohol (PURELY SPECULATIVE ON MY BEHALF)

Again I state these things with a pure genuine respect for all three and I wish their family and friends and loved ones all my prayers.

God Bless Derek Boogaard, Rick Rypien, and today Wade Belak. RIP

Marc Savard, pretty sure at best he'd try to make a comeback the following season but doubting it.

He hasn't ''retired'' though.

Here's the list I have put together for my FHL. Some may have retired late last summer:

Georges Laraque
Denis Gauthier
Adam Foote
Kirk Maltby
Craig Conroy
Bill Guerin
Mathieu Schneider
Andrew Peters
Jere Lehtinen
Darcy Tucker
Fredrik Modin
Brian Rafalski
Doug Weight
Brad May
Scott Walker
Mark Recchi
Todd Marchant
Paul Kariya
Chris Osgood
Patrick Lalime
Kris Draper
Chris Drury
Dave Scatchard

Yeah savard "Most likely wont play this season" was stated on XM92 by Bruins GM.

But that doesnt make him retired "YET".

So sad. I loved him on the Rangers and NEVER understood why we traded him. Dont remember if it was him for Tom Poti or was it Mike York for Tom Poti. Either way, TERRIBLE TRADE.

Would have been a pretty competitive team in their prime. Few question marks on the backend.

Kariya - Weight - Guerin
Modin - Drury - Recchi
Lehtinen - Conroy - Tucker
Maltby - Draper - Walker
May - Marchant - Laraque

Rafalski - Foote
Schneider - Gauthier
Hnidy - Belak

Osgood - Lalime

Are you doing EHM research or something? You seems to be creating a lot of information gathering based topics.

The trade was Mike York for Tom Poti.

Savard was traded with the 11th pick in 1999 for the 9th pick (Lundmark), a 3rd in 1999 (Patrick Aufiero) and the rights to Hlavac.

Selanne may retire, but he says that every year.

"hmm should I retire or come back and score at nearly a PPG pace?"

This is the generation I grew up, and started to love the sport, with.
Sad to see guys like Recchi, Weight and Osgood retire.
