Pretty good guy to bring in on a try-out. Likely won't make the team, but would be solid depth if he did.

He took a two way contract last year for the Preds. Seems like a good insurance policy for utility bottom-six energy guy. Will bring the energy.

So if i'm not forgetting anyone :
Saab
Lessard
Nolan
Begin
Fedoruk

All signed a try-out, should be an interesting camp.

Well no need to make big move for a final loss team.

We've needed a top 6 winger since last year, and still need one.

Probably one of the first cuts. But a veteran to come in and push some guys.

Never know...he's a gamer (hits, fights and sticks up for teammates), he's french, he kills penalties, good on the draw. He's a guy who could be popular with AV. I think he could earn a spot on the 4th line, but I think its a long shot.

Considering he's french Canadian and played for the Habs, AV will make sure he replaces Kesler on the first unit PP.

Could be valuable to have him in Chicago; never hurts to have a guy with almost 500 NHL games on his resume available in case of injury, but I don't see him supplanting anyone as a regular on the team.

I heard he doesn't want to play in the AHL anymore, so I'm guessing he'll probably retire if he doesn't make the big team.

I know you're saying this as a joke, but keep in mind that Begin is French Canadian and AV loves his hard working boys.

I wish we still had Glass...

New Top line:

Glass - Begin - Rome

Sedins, who? Unfortunately, this wouldn't be a far stretch.

there could be more try-out invites to come according to mr. gilman on the radio a few days ago.

He [Begin] is the third veteran invitee so far – and based on the big hint Laurence Gillman dropped earlier this week – he may not be the last. Professional Try Out (or PTO) deals don’t count against the teams fifty contract limit.

heres some list of guys to consider.

mike grier, cory stillman, sergei samsonav, chris clark.

Not a huge Begin fan, but I don't think he would have stood around when Marchand was pulling his crap in the Final.

Sure, but then you actually have to ice your 4th line, which isn't something that was happening very much by the Finals.
