Hockey News picked Nashville to finish 8th in the west.

Quote:
Why: If there's one thing the hockey world has learned it's that you can never completely count out the Nashville Predators. A model of the team game, Nashville had its best season in 2010-11 by making it to the second round of the playoffs and were able to keep their franchise defenseman, Shea Weber, around for at least one more season. They did lose Joel Ward and a couple other support crew in the off-season, but it will be interesting to see what someone such as the newly-acquired Niclas Bergfors can bring to the table. Pekka Rinne will surely be one of the league's best again and Nashville will live and die by how few goals it allows. Once again, the offense will be by committee. While we're predicting a little fall-off in the regular season, coach Barry Trotz won't let his team fall out of the playoff picture.

I'm not positive if people in the states can see this video, but give it a shot. It's a short recap of the Rookie Card photoshoot this year and you get to see the new solid yellow jersey on Ellis skating around. Looks good!

Yes, we can see that video, but I think we're restricted from live streams. Looks good! Thanks!

That video should be edited to take some of the guys who won't make the team out, change the last line to "Who Will Be This Year's Story?", and use it as the video for opening night

I'm planning on signing a bunch of unheard of players to 2 way deals, and hopefully a couple of them will pan out, just like Ward and Goc did. That way, its cheap, low risk, and we still make the playoffs and lose in the early rounds ever year
He might has well have said that.....

honestly, i feel better about this team after taking a step back. I trust in our youth movement and Nick "Top 6" Spailing. Ok not him, but I really do think our team is young enough to progress from within and make the playoffs this year and continue to do so until we can afford to add a scorer.

The maker of the vid made the Suter, Rinne, and Weber the last 3. The big 3!

Don't remember, but she did include Kyle Wilson and Zach Stortini, right? Possibly Chris Mueller, Jusso Puustinen, Jani Lajunen...

Love those sorts of videos. One of our own does much the same every year - he had two this year, and one of 'em (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKJ8s_xKLvQ) is why we're almost certainly going with "A Call To Arms" as our avatar theme this year.

Ohh we'll be cheering for the Habs, but gotta support Billy Kostitsyn!

Venturing away from the Sharks board into new territory here because I wanted to hear a little about Jonathan Blum. What are his prospects this season, and any projections for down the road? I have a growing fascination with California hockey products... seeing he's from Long Beach, coupled with his great showing in limited action last year and down-to-Earth nature on twitter he's fast becoming one of my favorites in the NHL. If there's already a discussion that covers him here feel free to link to that- my search feature isn't working and I ctrl+f'd the first few pages, butdidn't find a thread... Thanks

Blum will start the season on the 2nd pairing with Kevin Klein, he'll likely also man the point on the 2nd PP unit and get some PK time as well. He was terrific last year and the sky's the limit for him in the future. He's definitely got the potential to become Suteresque.

Who is going to be the 2nd A on the team? Erat? Leggy? Is Rinne allowed?

No, goalies can't. I'd say Legwand or Fisher.
