I told you so.

Wondering if he still has improved since July.

it all makes sense now Lats said he likes to eat and everyone knows it, he's the "finninsh insect" that bit brodin in the leg, but thankfully his nutritional coach was there to tell him, "you've already had your serving of Scandinavians for the day"

in any case its good to see him motivated and wanting to improve, it would be awesome if he could pot 30 for us.

this is a contract year for him, right?

coming off of an out-injured-because-i'm-fat year that's a lot of motivation right there.

Yes, he signed a two-year deal last offseason.

Well that's a relief. Also, if Yeo uses the lines he has penciled in right now, Lats won't be competing against Seto for goals and he'll have someone to give him the puck in Bouchard. The 3rd line is exactly how I wanted it as well. Please no Staubitz though, give someone else a shot.

The big question now is will he keep the weight off or will he pull a Delmon Young and gain it all back by next season?

If he has a hot start right out of the gate that will only reinforce what he's been doing. If he starts out on a cold streak, for his sake I hope he has the inner strength to resist the urge to pig out on junk food. With Yeo running the show and teammates relying on him, especially during a contract year, his leash will be short.

Also, I would love to give props to Russo or whoever came up with the NHL.com-style Latendresse headline.

Nice to see all the confidence that Yeo have in Scandella. I'm just not a supporter of Cullen in the second line, IMO, him in the third line would make an amazing fast/checking line very difficult to play against, with some offensive upside. But, he is the head coach and he know more than me, he knows what he is doing and have all the training camp to figure out.

Sure. Him or Peters. See how they do with a little more time than they got last year. Of course with injuries to forwards I'm sure they'll be the first ones to get called up anyways. Maybe even give a guy like Mcmillan a chance at some point. I still wish the Wild would've resign'ed O'Sullivan. Oh and why not give Jeff Taffe a try as well?

Wellman is not fitted for 4th line duties, even 3rd i would say, not his role. Now, if one of our top 6 injuries he may be one of the firsts to be called.

Well I guess you guys our correct in saying it will be Staubitz on the 4th line. He is suited to play there I just wish he could actually win a fight. This is a little off topic but I actually had a dream last night that the Wild traded next year's 2nd and 3rd round draft picks to LA for Jonathan Quick, lol. It would almost make sense some time in the next year or so too. LA may go with Bernier and get rid of Quick and we might not keep Backstrom. I'm sure we'd have to offer more than a 2nd and 3rd for Quick though right?

Maybe so but it all depends on how well Quick plays the next seasons

Just keep him away from Tom Reid's. I read that he has a new Canadian menu including poutine:

I think that Almond or McMillan will find there way to being on that last line with Gillies and Nystrom....when that happens, I don't know but both Almond and McMillan can drop the gloves (not suggesting they can fight the same guys Staubitz can), play physical, while providing better defense and a bit more offense than Staubitz.

Personally, I prefer McMillan with Gillies because McMillan's faster than Almond. Almond is better at cycling and has a more rounded game but for strictly N/S dump, bang, and go to the net, I prefer McMillan.

He just mentioned the 12 forwards on one-way contracts. None of the other guys are guaranteed a spot, and Yeo wants to make it known. Almond, Wellman, McMillan, McIntyre, Palmer, Peters, etc. could all very well find a way onto our team at some point, whether it be at the start or as a call-up. Personally I don't believe Eric Nystrom is a competent 4th line center so I'd like to see someone(Almond/McMillan, preferably not Peters because his leadership is valuable in Houston) impress in camp and take that job, moving Nystrom to wing where he was noticeably better last season.
