Bryan Murray

Bryan Murray is gonna be a guest on Team 1200 today at 3:25

I will not be fortunate enough to be available to tune in at that time, if anyone can post a summary that would be greatly appreciated.

Bryan is probably just going to tell us everything we already know(some rookies could make it, Alfie is looking good skating, the team is excited for a fresh start etc etc.)

For the most part, yes, but there's usually a gem or two in Murray's interviews.

I missed the first part I think, but they keep hyping up Borowiecki. Talked a little bit about Filatov and said if he isn't ready, he isn't ready (not sure what that means). He also said they tried one last time to convince Silfverberg to come over but his mind was made up.

Said Lehner is at rookie camp because he needs to play games. They told a few guys to stay home because they knew enough about them, like Hoffman.

Said it looks like Alfie will be ready for regular season, but isn't sure about pre-season. Talked about Spezza ready to be a real leader, and how he was great off the ice at the end of last year.

The Filatov portion was a little more detailed than we've heard previously. They said that if he's not ready, he's not ready, but also that they would work with him to make him into an everday NHLer. It seemed to open up the possibility of him playing in Bingo briefly. That was my interpretation at least. When they post the interview others can weigh in.

Basically prospect porn, he hyped Borowiecki and pointed it was a youth movement, that Alfredsson probably wouldn't play a lot of pre-season games but should be ready for the regular season.

Nothing groundbreaking.

Also said they told Hoffman not to come to the rookie camp because he doesn't need it - they liked what they saw at the end of the year.

What I read from the BM comments on Nikita Filatov was basically lowering expectations of him in the eyes of the media that he needed to perform all these points right away.

For sure the Bingo seasoning comment may be a message being sent to Filatov himself too...

Have not heard the interview, just wanted to point out while he was in the Columbus organization he refused to report to Syracuse when sent down towards the end, went overseas instead I believe..

That was back in the 2009-2010 season. He played in the AHL last year and atleast seems willing to do what it takes to stick in the NHL. His relationship with CBJ in general was just toxic for both sides.

Peter Wiercioch?

And when will he acknowledge Karlsson? He's as much a part of the team as Spezza or Anderson, yet guys like Phillips and Gonchar are mentioned instead of him.

He's talking about the true seasoned veterants...Karlson is entering his 3rd year is he really a seasoned veterant? Sure he can help show the way, but he hasn't seen nearly as much as Phillips and Gonchar and can still learn from them. This is about the old guys teaching the young guys...and Karlson is still part of the young guys...
