Hard to believe, really. I read the plane was in bad condition and should have been inspected before takeoff. This makes me mad because it could have been avoided.

Any confirmation that Salei was not on the plane?

I can't believe what's gone on this summer, terrible.

I believe McCrimmon had been a Trashers assistant.

Heartbreaking to say the least. I had my first child a few years ago, and the amount of love (and work!) involved is beyond comprehension for those who are not yet parents. Besides the love, there's a lot of worrying and sleepless nights and other stuff. All you hope is that your kids grow up and live long, happy lives.

And then something like this happens and it's amazing how fast all of that stuff above can be ruined in one fleeting moment. I feel so bad for the loved ones of the deceased. May all of them rest in eternal peace.

I am really interested in finding out what brought the plane down. I am not a sick person, but I have a real interest in plane crashes and what events lead to the plane crashing. I want to get a job investigating aircraft accidents when I get out of school.

Really sad, RIP

Awful news obviously, hate seeing this. Yet another black eye for the khl as well, though. Corrupt Russia with lax or nonexistent safety regulations, why anyone with other options would want to play there is beyond me.

This is reopening the old Cherry wounds for me as well...

Agreed. Being a parent adds another perspective to these types of heart wrenching tragedies.

well damn it doesn't get much worse.....

Karpo and Rachunek 2 former Rangers!

Jan Marek - one of the best current czech players, one of the KHL top scorers.....

its devastating

Most of you are too young to remember but in 1962 the entire ManU team crashed at Munich airport. A generation of players vanished, few notable survivors.

In the late 40's I believe a czech national hockey team vanished above the Channel going either to or from England........

Tim Horton also comes to mind........

Its really dreadful.....

Not sure if it's confirmed but saw a report saying the plane was over loaded.
