Also if you'll be commuting to class, schedule your classes early because if your first class is at noon you're never going to find parking.
I know these storms... very well, I come up every winter to spend time I'd choose early classes anyhow. Thanks for helping also. I figure i could get some help from someone that's friendly/not total total strangers and did. Thanks again.

So are we really gonna move next door and associate with Devils fans? I'm not so sure about this

Tell me about it. Why the thread can't just be ignored by posters who don't want to read/participate in this thread, I will never know. I'm going to have to make friends with Devils fans, this is not gonna go over smoothly...

I believe you meant "don't wanna be alone". Don't worry, we'll fight thru that board together

I'm not.

I don't get it.

We're RANGER fans interacting with daily life and discussions in a RANGER OT thread.

Put limitations on what we can talk about, then, instead of shutting it down.

Or don't put limitations and just hit the ignore thread button. I don't see why people can't just hit that button...

I don't want to seem like a cry baby over this, because I could careless if I posted in it, but it's just cool to have.

I get the sports OT threads, to be honest, because, well, it's sports. The weather is just random until there's a storm threatening the New York area. Put all that extra **** in here.

Then the ones that don't like this thread because of the ******** in here, the ignore button welcomes them like you said.

Limitations were outlined here.

Quote:
- OT CONTENT - We considered removing the official OT thread all together, but instead we wanted to clarify the purpose of it. We originally opened the OT thread as a drop box for all OT related content that would be thread worthy. It has turned into something that is more like a lounge. That was not its intended purpose.

If you feel the need to post something that is or isn’t Ranger related, and you can't find a suitable thread to post it in, then use the OT thread. Discussing what you are eating or posting a random picture or video is not OT material and takes up space. If you enjoy that type of chat discussion, visit the Lounge. Anything OT will be left or deleted at the discretion of the mods.
I'm not trying to backseat mod, but, to be completely fair, yeah, it was outlined, clearly.

I'm not necessarily happy with the decision, but, I respect it, and, honestly, I agree with it, despite the fact that I do enjoy this thread.

Amazing how simple it is to click an Ignore Thread button, and even more amazing how no one does it and then they complain about this thread being vulgar and inappropriate.

I'm off to introduce myself to the Devils OT thread... Wow, I actually have to interact with them now. All this is gonna do is make us spite everything here. Just watch, some people will become Devil fans over there, and then we will see that deleting the OT thread was the real problem.

Nah c'mon they could take down this entire site other than the Devil's board and I still wouldn't root for them.

I have a question, why aren't the Leafs board deleting their OT threads? They have 2 stickies for Blue jays and 1 for the raptors.

Have you ever actually warned/infracted anyone for doing so? Why don't you do that instead of just deleting their posts only to have them return.

So, too, with trying to stop unnecessary OT threads that pop up with or without this thread and spam. That didn't work either.

If you take a look at our first page, there are 10 OT threads. The original purpose of this thread was to consolidate all of those threads into one. Obviously that hasn't happened, and this particular thread has turned into something completely different.

If you read through the sticky thread, it is explained thoroughly. We regret having to do this, but we made several attempts to make members aware of our thought process. Warnings were sent, Announcements were made - and bumped, more than once.

Now we understand this is the offseason, and a thread like this is OK right now. So if everyone wants to help get this forum's discussion pattern back on track, then we'll be happy to bring this thread back next off-season. Its up to you.

We were trying our best not have to warn people for discussing day to day topics. After-all this IS a forum. Like I said, we made several attempts including warnings and infractions. This will be much more common place unfortunately if some of that behavior continues.

Listen, the mods don't want to be downers here. We understand were everyone is coming from. But the simple fact of the matter is that this is a forum for specific discussion. We tried to extend a rope to help encompass some of the requests made by members and that rope has been ripped from our hands. Its about reclaiming the purpose of this forum.
