What about bringing him as an enforcer?

I actually don't think Semin is a problem in Washington.
Neither is Backstrom, who's had a mediocre season.

I just think they needed some more grit/experience on that team to make it, and guys like Hamrlik go a long way to putting them over the hump.

If the Caps win the Cup this next season (and they're my pick to do it, with Hamrlik, Vokoun, etc.), the entire Semin-playoff-underperformer thing will be quickly forgotten.

No chance, the cup stays in the NE division.

Ruff also has had some Russian players that he relied on heavily and used often in pressure situations (Zhitnik, Tsyplakov).

sorry but Max was never unmotivated or lazy.

Max always gave it all but sometimes his brain couldn't catch up to his body.

He was lazy on backchecks. He got better at it like most players coached under Ruff do, but being lazy coming back into your own zone is what seems to annoy Lindy the most.

Semin is talented, I will give him that, but no thanks.

I don't know if I am in the minority or majority but this is how I felt about Afinogenov:

25% of the time I was
50% of the time I was
25% of the time I was

he's gone
