IIRC, that was the 6-5 OT win on Ken Priestlay's goal....as I remember, it wasn't one of the better Sabre-USSR games. I recall the Soviet team that came over for the exhibition series was their "B" team, and the Sabres' roster that season had Jacques Cloutier in goal because Puppa was injured.

Thank you for posting this up pete.

Just to let you all know this will be my first time streaming. I am hoping to start doing some bills/sabres related media. Maybe some documentaries/old games and stuff. Any ideas would be great.

Come in, chat, check out some old hockey. Quality should be decent, i pulled it from a DVD i had but it was clearly a VHS recording originally.

This is awesome! I was 4 when this was played, so I am seeing it for the first time. Can't believe I am cheering for a game that is 22 years over like it is live lol.The quality is pretty good too for how old it is, it has to be close to as good as watching it in 1989. Thank you!

I love the feedback I am getting. Shoot me ideas for other games to show and maybe I will make this more regular!

Not sure if you have it but there was game at the Aud on February 25, 1983 where the Sabres trailed the Bruins 6-1 midway through the 2nd period and the Sabres came back to rally and win 7-6. That was an interesting mix of veterans (Perreault, Ramsay, Ramsey, Hajt, Seiling, Bob Sauve, Van Boxmeer) and 7 starting rookies (Housley, Andreychuk, Virta, Cyr, McKenna, Davis, J.F. Sauve) that really started to come together in the 2nd half. The Sabres had a few memorable games against Boston that season - including one that stopped Pete Peeters' 32-game unbeaten streak at the Aud.
