From a Tampa POV, deal. Preds fans would probably want more, and for a signed Weber, he's certainly worth more than that, but being a pending UFA (in 1 year) his value will be less. That being said, why not just wait until next offseason and nab him as a free agent, since we'll be losing a few contracts and bodies on the defensive side.

He'll still be a RFA after next season. Rinne's going to be an UFA tho.

Didn't know that, thanks. In that case I'd be inclined to make a trade, rather than sending an offer sheet or waiting until he hits UFA status. The thought of a guy like Weber anchoring our blueline is incredible.

Yeah, I would also do it, I read that trade in a web-site and really made some sense, I can't see the Preds re-signing him, so we could send them a good power forward and a potential 1st liner, also a 1st round pick, and we get a franchise defense-man.

Can't wait to see Pyatt in a Bolts jersey. He was great for Montreal when Martin needed him and Boucher has coached him before.
