When I do a deke or a big hit the commentators always say "we'll see that in the top 10 hits/dekes on NHL.com". Or sometimes they'll say "they'll talk about that on the fly tomorrow".

That still doesn't beat this (make sure to fast forward to the 30 second mark):

Has anyone completed an entire season with sliders adjusted in your favor - like you could do in 11 - and had boosts/boost slots unlocked?

I hope it still works, or else I've wasted a lot of time.

EDIT: While simming the first two periods of every game.

EA is the biggest damn game developer/publisher in the world and you claim that they dont have money to put on proper developement?

It's a matter of how they allocate their resources, and as far as I know, games like Madden and FIFA will get more resources than the NHL team. Unless you can prove otherwise, I'm pretty sure that I'm right.

Yes.

Most 'big' businesses don't actually spread resources adequately across all their sectors/departments.

I work for a big company on a contract and they aren't willing to hire me outright despite making millions of dollars because they don't have the 'resources'.

I'd be very shocked to see that the platform of NHL got nearly as much funding as many other games under the EA brand.

4 freaking times today my game has frozen on me...

And it's in the same mode everytime (be a nhl pro)

Of course it's when I do good that it happens...

I used to think that it's cause I always skip to my next skift, but that's gotta been tested..right ?

So you think its okay they dont actually invest in the "new" nhl game but they will continue this milking year after year ?
+ inventing more money making systems (example HUT and commercial heavy games).

In good corporate behaviour profit is turned into increased budget.
And thats something that EA is definatelly NOT doing with all their yearly sports tittles.

NHL 12 how do you like it so far?

So far it's not much different from NHL 11 but I've seen some great improvements too. I love what they did with be a pro starting you off in the CHL. Also be a gm has improved also, the scouting seems better, trading has improved a lot (Star players are finally worth a lot more than regular players) and the sim engine is finally realistic.

So what's the total cost of the season ticket plus the game (if you download it early)? I remember reading that they give you a discount on the game.

If it ends up being around $75 I might do it. The closest Gamestop or any store that sells video games is 30 mins away from where I live. After figuring the cost of gas and the time it takes to get there and back, I might be better off downloading.

Edit: Nvm looks like the discount I read about is for DLC.

So if you buy the season ticket, then d/l the early release, do you still have to go out and get the game? Im all confused.

Yes. The early release won't work anymore when the game is released. Also, the only way you can actually profit by subscribing to the season ticket is if you play the other games included in the deal. If you only play NHL and buy DLC's, even if you have 20% off, you'll always end up paying for more than you would, all this to get the game 3 days earlier.

Also by the time your download is done, we'll be Monday.. So not worth it.

Ok thanks for saving me from spending money on it

I'll just stick with the demo and grab the game on Tuesday.

Be a Pro is so much better this year. Made my player 15, so two years in CHL then drafted. Playing CHL on pro, then when I get to the AHL I'll up it to All-Star and then Superstar in the NHL. I've gotten around 18 points so far in around 12 games. Not bad.

Screening is a lot easier this year and a lot more noticeable. Gotten a few deflection goals. Going to save up in HUT for a jumbo pack.

After spending a day and change with the game, I'm surprised to say I have few complaints, and none about the gameplay. My only issues are the freezing (which I'm somewhat confident will be fixed in the retail version, and if not then, then with the first patch), the custom music bugs, and the injuries in BeAGM mode (which isn't even that huge a deal...it still needs slight tweaking though). All in all, it's true this is basically NHL 11.5, but it's not the atrocious mess it's made out to be.

Also, my fantasy drafted Red Wings just absolutely F***ED UP the Wild in game 1 of the quarter finals. 8-1, 44-18 SOG. Mmmmm, love it.
