My Canucks Prospect Line-up

Hey guys, so judging by the Young Stars tournament and what i've researched on these guys, If I was Mike Gillis, this is what my starting Line-up would be for the prospects :

Archibald - Schroeder - Jensen
Anthony - Longpre - Tochkin
Sweatt - Friesen - Lessard
Roussel - Harrison - Rodin

Sauve - Erixon
Connauton - Polasek
Zanetti - Corrado

St. Laurent
Honzik

So my 1st line is made up of the highest skilled players on this roster IMO. Archibald put up 37pts in 36gms with Niagra (OHL) last year, Schroeder showed maturity and kept up with Manitoba (AHL) and Nicklas Jensen was Vancouver's 1st round pick this year and put up 58 points in his rookie season with Oshawa (OHL). My 2nd line consists of lots of speed. with Nathan Longpre centering a good two way forward in Steven Anthony and a chippy hard working Kellan Tochkin, this line could do some serious damage. My 3nd line adds some Experience and some young guns. Sweatt is the oldest player on the roster, (born in '88) and brings a bit more experience to the table, both Friesen and Lessard are a bit young but with Sweatt alongside them they should make more mature plays. I have put Yann Sauve on my 1st defensive pair with Swedish D man Sebastian Erixon. There was once a time that Yann Sauve and Drew Doughty were closely related skill wise, (believe it or not) and I think pairing him up with a skilled Erixon should give him a boost skill wise. I put Kevin Connauton with Czech Defenseman Adam Polasek, Polasek has fit in really well so far at the Young Stars tourney and he also showed he could fight by dropping Edmonton tough guy Colton Teubert. and even if Karel St. Laurent is on a tryout contract, he looks really good around the posts and with point on shots. Let me know what you guys think.

One average game in a pre-preseason tourney from Rodin shouldn't put him on the fourth line.

Bingo

Also, Sweatt scored almost 20 in his rookie year in the AHL, he should at least be on the 2nd line. Anthony is pretty useless in my mind, and hasn't done much to deserve a 2nd line spot. Switch Tochkin and Anthony with Sweatt and Rodin. Rodin has played with men in the SEL and faired quite well. Why is Harrison there? He's done nothing. I think you'd have to put Schneider there. Freisen I like. Longpre obviously from his showing so far, his wheels and willingness to drive the net.

Sauve is top pairing, and his skills are fine. They don't need to be brought out by anyone. Erixon needs to play with a stay at home guy, but there aren't really any in your lineup. Saab maybe? I don't know. Connauton should move to forward...kidding...sort of.
The guy's reads and passes are just poor for someone who played a full year in the AHL. Hopefully Mac-T can teach him a thing or two.

Not too many surprises with the cuts. Going to be one busy main camp

Hm, so that leaves:

Nathan Longpre
Antoine Roussel
Marc-Anthony Zanetti
Karel St. Laurent

out of all the invites remaining. We'll see if they're good enough to try out for the Wolves.

Zanetti over Saab is the only one I didn't expect.

Do you mean before watching them play? cause Zanetti definitely outplayed Saab by a large portion.

The Canucks are probably icing 2-3 vets per game (maybe less) for our split squad game against the Flames so it makes sense to keep all these prospects around. Most will be cut after that game.

Awwww ya! It starts !

I've gone from angry and pessimistic to fairly optimistic. I believe deep down that this core will get it done.

I'm liking the attitude coming from the team so far. If it translstes to on ice .. This team can get back there without a doubt.

The forward group when healthy is very impressive.

They even cheered when mike Carnegie came out. It's silly....

Thoughts so far
-Whoever said Jensen looks small, I don't think so at all
-Jensen had a nice talk with sturm who seemed to reach out to him
-Hodgson looks faster to me
-Schroeder looks like he has his feet, but took a point shot off his left skate and had to skate it off a bit. Had a nice shot top shelf against luo.
-Lack absolutely robbed salo in the paint
-Hansen truly is a practice superstar, top cheddar on a few drills
-Duco when he didn't get the pass he wanted, stood and glared at oreskovich. A bit weird.

he's probably been reading hfboards and wants to win over the fan base by pounding on big Vic. So what if it's a drill and they're teammates.....Duco smells opportunity.

Haha. Maybe, but I think he has been the worst guy on the ice thus far. Couldn't handle the puck during the first easy drill, not getting open on the drills and sort of half assed them, despite rig bent over after every drill. He got a talking to by two coaches after he flubbed a few. Don't know what was said of course, probably nerves? I was watching him pretty closely as he was with Schroeder. And on one drill where Duco could have stopped, he kept going and bumped Schroeder off balance.

the one I was missing was Hansen.

Yes, I think sulzer was #5 (Erikkson wasn't even on the lineup card) and the one I was missing was Hansen.
I would be nervous coming in to this camp in that arena with thousands of people watching you after what he said on twitter and the backlash he got from some canuck fans calling him a useless pos and garbage career ahler.
