Sucks that City and Colour were cut short. Aside from that, yesterday was great!

I know somebody who went to see Eminem and while the show itself was really good apparently people were acting like a bunch of morons to the furthest degree she has ever seen at a show before.

Yeah well I'm not surprised at all. It was raining ********** that night. They were spreading pretty fast.

It was expected and I avoided going Friday as a result. No worries, they won't be back next year.

I think the organizers need to take away a few things from this year:

1- Relevant headliners are needed. Elvis Costello simply will not cut it. It's a shame that there were so few people left at the main stages on Saturday night, but what did they expect? He's not a draw and won't keep people around. Flaming Lips are not as popular as the headliners they've had the past few years but at least they are engaging and put on a good show that will keep people watching even if they are not familiar with them. It's really kind of kills the mood. Just really poor scheduling on the organizers part.

2- The festival is getting bigger and they either need to make more space at the smaller stages or stop scheduling bands that will draw to play on them. I can't imagine what it was like on Friday cause it was difficult to get around the other two days.

3- Longer sets please, 30, 40 or even 60 minutes is not enough for many of these acts. Also, I know the stages are side by side and that the sets don't overlap but please add five minute gaps between sets so that if things go wrong or too long they can adjust without cutting artists set times. I gained a lot respect for Dallas Green for taking having his set time cut in stride but that was kind of embarrassing.

I suspect there will be an even bigger crowd. Didn't the free outdoor Stevie Wonder show draw close to 200,000 people in 2009? Not to mention Eminem drew nearly 40,000 people at Osheaga on Saturday with tickets costing at least $100.

Basically, this Arcade Fire show will be insane.

Personally you'd have to pay me to go see Arcade fire but really cool of them to do a free show. More bands need to do stuff like that.

Stevie was part of the Jazz Festival that year. My wife was lucky enough to be right there, in front row as she watched him jam.

Got tickets for the metropolis show of Arcade Fire in the pre-sale, let's hope I can get lucky with The National pre-sale as well.

BTW is the National headlining at the Bell Centre?

I'm going to see that Mastodon lineup in Toronto. Are Kyuss/The Sword touring or is it one off? I can't find anything in Toronto.
