Lol, no he wasn't. You're only mad because of the Gilmour/Gretzky incident. Let it go.

Like I said, I thought he called too many penalties at times but seemed to be a smart one. What was your beef with him? Just curious

Mick McGeough. Hell of a name. Hell of a terrible official.

The guy was atrocious. The thing was that unlike other 'worst' refs he wasn't really just ****ing a few teams over on repeated occasions (as a Penguins fan Fraser can kiss my ****ing ass), he was just flat-out incompetent. An equal opportunity ****er-over, if you will.

If Homer Simpson was as bad as his job as Mick McGeough was at his Springfield would have died in a horrible explosion midway through the first episode.

Augur gives phantom penalties to Burrows and is therefore not only the best official in the league but a credit to the human race and a modern-day hero

5 worst ever: McGeough(Worst ever, officially, AINEC), Assenhoven, Morel, Walkom, and Auger

(Dishonorable mention to: Frasier, Devorski, Joanette, St.Pierre, and L'Ecuyer)
Off the top of my head, I don't really like any current refs, they've all ruined their fair share.

Andy Van Hellemond kicked ass IMO. McCreary was a pain in the ass sometimes but I overall like him.

I was going to say that at least with "Magoo" I always felt he was bad out of sheer incompetence rather than trying to affect the game.

Everyone in this thread is extremely young. There were plenty of forgettable officials before 1990, which seems to be when everyone in the world started watching hockey. I seem to recall Ron Wicks and Bob Myers getting everyone's **** in a twist.

Best ever: Storey, Chadwick, Van Hellemond... anyone who's a hall of famer.

I know why Kerry Fraiser was well liked. Because for some teams he was a god send while for other teams he was the devil. For teams where he was the devil you understand he's got to be top 3 worst of all time. He's as bias as they come imo. Makes the most borderline retarded calls at times that are very one-sided.

Chris Lee by far is the worst though. Nothing against these guys as people but man are they terrible officials. Chris Lee and his call changing. Call it how you see it *****!

All refs sucked. Game is better not reffed and have players ref themselves.

Or randomly select some home fans' seats.

Should be a poll and as a Canuck fan, it's so easily Auger it's almost unnecessary to post it.

Really? He's my all time best. I always knew that at the end of the day, the game would most likely be called well.
