if you mean 100% of upper bowl renewed, then if there are the same number of seats in upper as lower, an 85% renewal rate would mean 30% of lower bowl did not renew

I have a few friends that work directly for MSG in the ticket department and from what I have heard the 300,s and 400,s are gone. I think that if you are waiting to get seasons or partial seasons you might get a few scattered seats in Sections 321,323,346 and 348 but that is probably it. I had someone I know check the computer this morning and look at the availability and there are plenty in the 200,s and 100,s but not as much as last year and there is a waitlist.

Brain LaFemina (former head of season tickets) told me 3 years ago they would never see a renewal rate below 90% and that is why price increases are justified...

The renewal rate used to over 95%. I don't think 85% is anything to write home about. Richards alone can't make the place full (although if Gaborik gets going too, that would help).

So those people who currently have miniplan will not be able to get their same seats this season, or maybe seats at all?

I believe that if you have an existing plan you are okay. The new plans will be affected. They have cut down the amount of new plans in the upper bowl but have allocated a limited amount. I was told that MSG is looking to make the mini plan less attractive once the renovations are finished by raising the prices, taking away playoff games etc. The feeling is why have mini-plans when you can have full seasons. This is the business model the Yankees have used recently and apparently it has been moderately successful.

I have a mini plan because I can't afford a full plan. Also I am guaranteed the home opener.... There are no playoff rights on a miniplan..

I have a feeling that won't last long. You ever see what Yankee tickets go for on stubhub?

Has anyone heard about the mini-plans? I just heard today that MSG might try to limit the amount of new mini plans they issue because they feel they have people waiting to buy full seasons. The main problem they have is that most people are asking for mini-plans in the 300,s and 400,s and there are just not that many open seats. I know that they unoficially announced that playoff tickets and Winter Classic tickets as well as T/E will not be for non full season ticket holders that are new. I am just wondering if anyone heard anything because they are still offering mini-plans on their website.

There's no way they can do this, I'm going to go ******* on my rep
I still haven't received the second email where they tell us where the seats will actually be. My rep told me that we would have gotten it on August 31st, which has come and gone. Anyone else find out yet?

I think the capacity is around 16k-17k, since half of the 300's are missing. I think MSG will be jammed this year, and tickets should resell for above face IMO.

But who knows

I have gotten about 5 different answers as to the capacity but all that I hear is that there will be a lot less seats this year. I heard that if the Knicks stay out this will impact the number of seats as MSG will be more inclined to keep more seats open and keep renovating full time.
I think they are sold out of most seats except for the higher priced lower bowl.

I received an email last week saying that I needed to inform my rep by today if I wanted my tickets mailed to me, so I would think they're being sent out very soon.

I spoke to my rep today, she said early October. They are likely about to send the info to the printers.

FWIW, the seating chart that came with the season ticket information booklet I got at the event at the NHL Store Thursday night had prices for miniplans.

Thanks for that nugget of info. I imagine that the miniplans will be seniority based with 3000 less seats available....
