Dont know if you are talking about D'amigo in the same breathe, because you think they are linked to a trade.

Jerry has an injury and wont be attending the rookie tourney.

IB also said that Max Talbot and the Leafs had a written agreement, and it was 100% that Talbot would be a leaf this upcoming season.
He is NOT reliable ( NHL at least ) and when you question him, he acts like a child and blocks you.

He said just a few days ago that the schenn signing was 90% done (whatever that's supposed to mean). And he's proven to be just as reliable as eklund.

IB is not a reliable source.
His MLB/NFl sources are a well proven fact. Look up the Manning situation. That's lightyears better then eklund.

To clear up my opinion on him, he is still obviously hit and miss with the NHL, but Eklund has a 3% accuracy rate. Everyday he spouts about a new rumour, sometimes contradicting what he said the day before. IB pulls out NHL rumours maybe once a week. Tweets what he says he hears for 0$ profit. Eklund makes money luring suckers around drawing kids and forum noobs to his site for hits.

2 completely different types of sources. I don't count on IB for the facts with the NHL, but I still follow him on twitter, where as ek's garbage is ignored by myself and many others. Whether or not its posted here with "I know it's Ek, but........"

I said it in the trade forum for the 'value of schenn' thread, I'd prefer Strome.

Only because I got the impression Burke and the gang did. I wonder, if he was being shopped, if you could get another 5th overall + for Schenn.

Or just keep him. He was one of my favourites.

There are two sides right now.

Leafs camp want 4.1-4.2 million AVG over 2-3 years.
Schenn camp is asking for closer to 4.5 million AVG over 5-6 years.

Obviously the problem here isnt money, its term. One takes Schenn to UFA, the other doesnt.
Kings fan coming in peace,

We are dealing with the same thing with Doughty. The Kings offered nine years with a 6.8 cap hit as well as a 3 year with an unknown cap hit. Both were rejected. All the chatter is saying that money isn't the issue, it's the years. Basically, Newport/Meehan is insisting on 5 years (Doughty's first year of UFA eligibility). It all comes down to Newport wanting their guys to hit UFA as soon as possible.

When Burke signed Kessel, he told him that he either gets a 3 year deal (which by the end he'd still be an RFA) or a 5 year deal (which means we get one year of his UFA status).

Basically Burke refused to give him a 4 year deal, which would take him to his earliest UFA eligibility.

I'm assuming its the same deal here with Schenn.

I think I remember hearing that about the Kessel deal as well.

It would make sense that Burke's doing the same here with Schenn, and I think it's very fair.

If the agent is so intent on getting a deal that brings Schenn to UFA status... why not sign a deal that brings him to the last year of RFA, and then they can just go to arbitration for that year and be UFA one year later. IF that's the real hold up.

Kaberle was a fantastic Maple Leaf.

But not worth of having his jersey retired IMO.

Lombardi has every right to that jersey with that being taken into consideration.

I don't see Burke making room for Turris. Not that I wouldn't want him, but with Bozak and Lombardi vying for the 3C, would he really move 2 players for a prospect?

I'd imagine Turris would be our #1 C in the AHL, and work up from there.
