Sabres-Rangers, Traverse City Tournament Final, 7:00pm, MSG/NHLNetwork

Hey, why not?

Pre-game stats sheet.

For the tournament, it looks like the Rangers have a clear specialty teams edge, both PP and PK so that should be something to keep an eye on.

Hopefully MSG/NHLNetwork work out whatever they need to for me to watch this live tonight too.

One of the few times being in Ranger territory will pay off. I have hockey practice tonight so I'll DVR and watch late - or catch one of the 7552 replays of the game that are on the tv guide.

LGB

5-3 rags

be great if this were on NHL network nationally. They've been rebroadcasting Rags/Canes incessantly.

The programming schedule I saw last night for NHLN via DirecTV is that they are showing the game live today (7PM EST / 4PM PDT) and then will air 2-3 re-broadcasts of it later tonight and into tomorrow.

I say they come up just short in this one. 4-3, Rags.

Adam (2)
Tropp

Erixon
Bourque
Miller
Thomas

Felt good to pick a score and the goal-scorers again. It's been too long. It'll be nice to watch a game, too. My hope is that Lieuwen and McNabb go back to WHL playoff form.

It will be interesting to see how they play this. Will they continue rolling all the lines? Will they shorten the bench just a tiny bit in the latter part of the game? If they get a PP, will they throw out a line like Crawford-Biega-Adam-Tropp-??? (basically, an entire AHL line) to try get matchup advantages against predominately juniors and rookies-to-be?

Pretty excited for the game and glad I can watch it with my brother who is a Rangers fan, some friendly banter will be nice. The Rangers team has been incredible so far, McIlrath has been a beast and the Rangers have tons of quality in their forwards with Miller, Thomas, etc. Hopefully we can pull out a W.

No, none of the games have been nor will this one be on. Kind of a bummer, but perhaps next year.

So McIlrath-Kassian or McIlrath-McNabb? I expect the second as a hold-over from the 'dub playoffs.

TV: If your in the Rangers or Sabres viewing area - you get the game on your MSG channel.
(NHL Network will be blacked out.) If your outside of the Rangers-Sabres viewing area -
which you are - it will be on NHL Network. (I'm going to say if you get MSG via a satellite -
it will be blacked out.) The game will also be on NHL Network up in Canada.

LS...

I'm a bit of a Rangers fan so this should be a good one, outside of obvious broadcast benefits, I'm glad it's vs. the Rangers.

So is Phil Varone officially Sabres property?

Varone impressed me at prospect camp back in July. On top of some unheralded skills, he seems like a good team guy. Was real chatty with his fellow prospects in individual drill sessions with coaches. Looked like he was having a great time out there. I recall wanting him signed then. He looks like he's enjoying a solid tournament, too.
