Rangers Training Camp Discussion (9/30: Sauer returns to practice; Kolarik tears ACL)

Since training camp starts tomorrow, I figured it would be nice for it to have it's own thread!

Last year, I remember someone on this board posting a premade twitter feed with all the NYR beat writers included. If someone has a link or can make another list, it would be greatly appreciated!

Also, does anyone have any suggestions on a twitter client for Android? I have a Droid but have never used twitter before, but would like to get all the updates as I'm running around tomorrow.

Traverse City has me pumped and excited to see what surprises come out of camp.
-Will MDZ regain his form and make the club?
-How will Erixon look playing against NHLers?
-Have Zucc/Wolski improved at all in the offseason?
-Is Avery done for?
-How will Callahan begin to assert himself as the new Captain?

I'm getting all giddy just thinking about it!!!!!!

Hopefully we get the camp players list here soon. It will be interesting IMO to see some of the invites as I haven't heard of really ANY vets coming in.

Yeah probably. And the first few days are just skating. won't be until next week that we actually start hearing about practices and scrimmages

Tonight, the temperature dropped like 25 degrees. There's a cool breeze - I finally have a window open for god sakes with all this humidity.

Tomorrow camp starts. Setting my fantasy rosters for Week 2. Yanks starting to talk about magic numbers. This is it fellas. The beginning of what imo is the best time of year!

there will be no vet tryout training camp invite this year. as of now, we are going to war with what we have. always subject to change during the season.

Get TweetDeck. Once Brian Boyle (not the real Brian Boyle) mentioned it, my life was completed.

Jim CernyMichael Sauer also will not take part in #NYR conditioning tests & will stay off ice at first bc of knee; he feels he'll be back on ice soon
Jim CernySauer told me he feels knee has gotten stronger by the day the past week & he believes #NYR training staff is right on top of the issue

Im talking about fantasy football actually. lol

Never tried hockey. Waaay too much work for me, footballs perfect because you only have to worry about setting your roster once a week most of the time.

As far as camp goes, i just hope everyone makes it out healthy tomorrow. You can pretty much bank on a few strained groins, hammys, knees, hips - whatever that stem from tomorrows skate. Guys really push themselves.

WTF happened to his knee? This is not good news at the start of training camp.

I have used it before, but I get too many notifications.

Any way to limit them and how do you use the software the best?

The Rangers invited Scott Tanski to camp. Overage junior going to college.

Quote:
Meanwhile, forward Scott Tanski will get an opportunity to skate with the NHL stars like Marion Gaborik and Shaun Avery when he attends New York Ranger training camp of Friday.

“It honestly hasn’t set in yet. I was focused on playing an exhibition game with Nipissing. To get the call is such an honour but totally unexpected,” says Tanski, who was already expecting to go the Rangers’ American Hockey League (AHL) camp later this month.

Who is Shaun Avery? He must a NHL star. Sean Avery is not a NHL star.

We got very lucky with Sauer's injury history not catching up to him last year. Really hope it doesn't start now, for his and our sake.

Sauer had a MRI on his knee and everything came back clean. Negative. He tweaked his knee skating in the Rangers skates.

Plenty of time for him to get ready. With his injury history they are doing the right thing. Take it easy and be their game 1.
