The Jets offer has the highest level of talent, but there would be better offers to be considered IMO.
Even with that, this looks like one of those attempts at Quantity over Quality and IMO this is NOT the kind of deal the KIngs GM makes given the unique level of talent Doughty has.
Edm and Winnipeg also have that "Drew got what he deserved" feel to it as well, which has zero merit when evaluating the benefit of the assets to LA...but it would still sting the young Mr Doughty if a trade were to happen.
In no way do the Jets give up either Kane or a first round pick if such a deal were proposed. The organization has already said that they plan to build long-term from within via the draft and will not sacrifice either high value picks or young players in search of a big name target.
Nice try though.
IMO, I think they would rather give up Bogosian and a 1st but not including Kane.
So Winnipeg will probably build around Drew and Kane.
THen the Kings simply havent a single reason to deal DD for the next several years. Either we get back an elite forward and an overpayment prospect or why deal him at all? We have the next 5 years to convince to sign a deal with us and his next contract value drops each moment he holds out.
If you are going to offer DD a contract you are absolutely going to bring up the fact that he held out and adjust your offer to protect your team making the amount of cash DD can expect less with each passing moment.
