For anyone going to watch training camp this weekend in Brandon... Who haven't been there before, watch out for the DIP in the road leading into the place it will do some damage if you go over it to fast.

Ritola is healthy too:
Quote:
What we do know is Ritola hasn't had an attack since Feb. 3. And his career — which he believed over in December, when headaches, dizziness and ringing in his right ear were so severe it made flying nearly impossible — gets a healthy restart Friday when training camp opens at the Ice Sports Forum. (...)

But what finally did the trick, Ritola said, were neck-cracking sessions with Brad Robinson, a chiropractor who works with Tampa Bay's AHL affiliate in Norfolk (...)

But Mulligan isn't discarding the diagnosis of Tampa Bay's doctors.

"Since (Ritola) improved with the chiropractic, does that mean he doesn't or didn't have Meniere's? No," Mulligan said. "It could be a situation where he is in a dormancy period and that was enough to put him over the edge. Whether it's related to the chiropractic, we'll never know."

Also it's seriously cold in that building. Take something with long sleeves.

When the building is packed..like it probably will be Sat. & Sun. it's not that cold. Don't remember if it was last season or the one before it was standing room only around the rink..and I ended up having to take me jacket off it was so warm...

St. Louis gets to starve.

Based on who has been grouped with who, I'm going to presume Downie is Team Blue as well. He'll have to walk.

That doesn't make much sense if it is pros vs prospects. The prospects wouldn't have a chance in the scrimmage.

In his defense, Conacher is fast as ****.

On the other hand he looks shorter than MAB, and was getting knocked around a lot.

Quote:
"It doesn't feel strange at all," Tyrell, 22, said of not having a secured position. "I have to establish myself every year. Anybody can take anybody's job, so it's going to be a tough camp."

...Tyrell, 5 feet 11, 185 pounds, said he shunned long-distance running during his summer workout program in favor of more weight training to improve his already formidable speed.

"I tried to get more powerful and explosive," Tyrell said. "I came into camp in shape and fit and ready to go. I think I showed a little bit in the fitness testing (Friday), and I felt good on the ice."
Quote:
"He came to make the team," the coach [Boucher] said. "I'm not surprised. That's the kind of person he is."
http://www.tampabay.com/sports/hocke...ection/1192215
Quote:
Instead of power plays, teams received penalty shots. The shooters, who took off from the center red line, were chased by opponents, who started behind at the blue line. It was a bit embarrassing, then, when F Mattias Ritola was caught by D Radko Gudas, who disrupted Ritola's shot.

"Everything matters here," Gudas said of winning a job.

Even so, Boucher said of Ritola, "He's a line in advance. He shouldn't get caught."

Man that blair jones goal was a high light reel goal. He made a move around the defenseman (can't remember who it was), protected the puck, went from the backhand to the forehand and put it past nagles pad. It was a thing of beauty. Everyone looked pretty good today, there was no one that really stood out as being bad. the fight for the last few spots are gonna be tough, i think tyrell has the 4th line spot with his speed but ritola, pyatt, and jones all looked solid.

Boucher comments on some players at camp:
Quote:
"I think Jonesy played really well yesterday and he played great again today. When you look at the testing we did, and just the way his demeanor is, he came in on a mission. Up to now he's doing everything right."
Quote:
"A guy like Tyrell showed up in unbelievable shape. He's probably the most in shape player at our camp pound for pound. He's taking it seriously too. Ritola stepped it up today and played really well. Pyatt has done really well also, Conacher is still fighting in there...there's guys who are really going to push to get a job so I like it."
Quote:
"Who I liked today as a youngster, I liked Namestnikov. He's picked it up, he's trying to figure it out and I like it. Good kid, I like that kid."
