Someone has to pick up all the pucks off the ice after practice.

I watched all 82 Dallas Stars games last season on NHL Game Center, I am pretty sure I THOUGHT before I wrote my comment.

15th in the league is hard to laugh at.

Especially when our team is 29th.

I guess I could see the Jets around there. If Bogosian/Byfuglien/Oduya are at least competent defensively.

If the team goes from 29th to 15th this year I would be happier than hell.

Idk, hell isn't a great standard for happiness

Yeah, it would be a more than welcomed improvement.. but the play of Bogosian is definitely the "x factor" there.

Yeah, I for sure agree about Bogosian. I knew he apparently had problems with "torch" last year. But those problems never seemed to limit his ice-time (which increased near the end of the year), except the one or two games he was benched. Which is why I think his problems stem more from who he plays with than who he is coached by. That leads to why I think Jones (or even young guys like Postma and Kulda) may have a shot playing regular minutes if he shows chemistry with Bogo.

Bogosian's play will make the biggest difference with how our defense plays next year. Byfuglien should at least put up some points and Oduya shouldn't be quite as bad.

It looks like the Jets are popular in Columbus.

I completely disagree. Bodie is at least capable of playing a regular 4th line shift, unlike Koci.

A marginal shift that could be better served by a prospect. Koci can fight and play hard, even if he can't play very well. Bodie will never be more than a 10-15 point a year player, or a real fighter, even if he gains weight [which will slow him down and reduce his playing ability].

Koci can barely skate. We can agree to disagree, I guess. I'm cool with that.

Me too, as for who makes it...that's a really grey area, could feasibly be both or neither.

That's 10-15 more points than Koci would get.

And going around being a goon is pretty much done in today's NHL.

Brodie>Koci in every sense but fighting, that said Brodie can chuck them as well. I'd rather have Brodie since he's enough of a fighter to get the job done, but also contribute more in other areas.

Troy bodie

Not sure if some of you guys were at practice but Bodie had about 6 or 7 goal scorers goals almost all on pavelec I think his upside as a 12 or 13th forward is way higher than that of a koci.

owduya

Just wanna make a note owduya definately does not fit on this team he really looked weak defensively out there today.I really think we should try and trade him for a 3rd line quality penalty killer or another d in the mark stuart mold we have to many offence first d-men including postma who looked really good

I think its important to remember this was the first practice. No need to jump to conclusions as to who can play, who's a bum and who should get cut/traded. Oduya for instances can come back tomorrow and be the best player on the ice.
