Most of his goals have come on the PP. The Falcons are 2-2. I believe he is minus -2 on the season. He is a gifted offensive player who plays zero attention to his own end of the ice. As a center he is responsible for both ends of the ice. Many here feel that he is only here to score and impress the Yotes with his stats and could not care less about the defensive end of the game and whether his team wins or loses.
In Phoenix he doesn't score because he needs to be defensively responsible. BF considers that more important so I'm surprised that you are saying he doesn't play 2 way hockey. Playing well defensively hasn't got him a spot with the Yotes. Maybe he has decided that only by scoring goals will he be called up. I personally think he is ready but no spots are open. Maybe that will be a good strategy for him.
Also, can anybody give the line combo's so far for the Falcons?
Taffe is playing center. I'm not sure of all the lines but Westrum started at center last Sat. vs. Providence, with the Ferraros on the wings. Tselios and Bezina started on defense. I'm pretty sure Sjostrom was Taffe's RW.
Taffe is not a defense stopper, but he uses his size to lay some hard hits. Will get back on D but is more O minded. In college he played point on PP and did OK. His strength is his scoring not his D as is the same with several other players in the NHL, but he is not a liability.
