Dear MTS/SHAW,

Here is a signed blank cheque. You put down aaaany number you want. I don't care, I just want to be able to watch my Jets. Thank you for getting this channel available to us Winnipeg folks.

Yours truly,

Jay

Thankfully Shaw reached a deal with Bell. Shaw is using the "crack dealer" hook, though - the first three months are free. Of course, for $9.95 extra after that, it's still a pretty good deal. I had earlier told Mrs. Monty that as long as it was under $20 that I would be adding the package, so I'm super-pumped that it's half that!

You guys need a man cave. Got one and I can watch hockey 24 hours a day every day. No need to worry about the crap my wife watches and we are both happy.

Can't get much man time in a small 1 bedroom apartment. The lady has said that when we buy a house I'm free to use the basement as a man cave. I look forward to those days, haha.

Keep savin' for that down payment, 'cause it sounds like that day can't come soon enough.

Not significant enough to make too many switch providers. Main point is that both are carrying TSN Jets. Happy for the team that there will not be any delays in having their games carried by the major providers. And happy for myself 'cause now I won't miss any road games.

Apparently MTS has issued a press release on this. Here's a link to the MTS allstream page with the announcement.

MTS TV customers score with TSN Jets

Customers who subscribe to the season by October 31 will have chance to see a Jets game from the MTS private suite

WINNIPEG, MB, September 18, 2011 – MTS today announced that TSN Jets will be available to its MTS TV customers. The new channel will provide coverage of Winnipeg Jets 2011-12 home and away games.

"We know that TSN Jets is important to many of our customers and as the local, full-service telecommunications provider and an official partner of the Winnipeg Jets, we are pleased to offer TSN Jets to Manitobans," said Kelvin Shepherd, President of MTS. "We always strive to provide our customers with the best choice in programming."

TSN Jets will be available to all MTS TV customers on free preview until October 31, 2011. Starting Monday, October 3, 2011, MTS TV customers will be able to sign up for the telecasts that will continue after the free preview ends. These telecasts will be available for the remainder of the season for $9.95 per month. Between October 3 and October 31, 2011, customers who commit to purchase the entire season of games will have a chance to see a Jets game from the MTS private suite.

TSN Jets will be available in standard definition on channel 168 and for MTS Ultimate TV customers available in high definition on channel 480.

Winnipeg Jets games not carried on TSN Jets will be broadcast nationally on either TSN or CBC, both of which are part of the MTS TV basic TV package.

For more information about TSN Jets on MTS TV, please visit www.mts.ca/tsnjets.

TSN Jets

MTS is an official partner of the Winnipeg Jets and we are proud to announce that we will be carrying the new TSN Jets channel for our customers on MTS Ultimate TV and Classic TV. The new TSN Jets channel will offer 60 Winnipeg Jets home and away games.

TSN Jets will be available on channel 168 on both Classic TV and Ultimate TV. MTS Ultimate TV customers will also have access to TSN Jets in HD on channel 480.

We will be offering a free preview to start the season so MTS TV customers do not yet have to take any action to get TSN Jets. The free preview will end on October 31, 2011.

On October 3, customers will be able to sign up for TSN Jets to ensure they continue to have the channel after the free preview ends. Information on how to subscribe to TSN Jets will be provided in the coming days.

The channel will be available at a rate of $9.95 per month at the conclusion of the free preview period.

Customers, who commit to a full season subscription to TSN Jets between October 3 and October 31, will have a chance to see a Jets game from the MTS private suite. A full season subscription is $9.95 per month for 5 months starting November 1, for a total of $49.75.

More information about this contest and how to order TSN Jets will be available soon.

For Shaw, it looks like TSN Jets will be on channel 304 HD and 327 SD.

That's where they have the Blue Jackets - Jets pre-season game scheduled on Tuesday night.
