According to Leslie, though, there wasn't much chemistry with Stepan centering Dubinsky and Callahan, unfortunately.

There wasn't last year, either.

Anisimov may not be a PP guru or a north-south guy, but he actually has a history of making that line dangerous at even strength. And this is a team built towards being dangerous at even strength.

must be pretty bad to be assigned to the AHL before training camp..

who is Jeff Prough??? anyone know anything about him??
ECHL-caliber player that has spent time most recently in the Debbies system. He's nothing.

Jerry Kuhn was the goalie for Western Michigan, where Max Campbell played. He'll probably be on some ECHL team this year.

Exactly. Stepan didn't work with those two last year and we'll see it tried again this season I am sure. Dubinsky praised Anisimov saying he was the key to that lines success, they just work well together.

But if they move Dubi to the first line and Wolski to the second it could be a different story. I'd at least like to see it tried before we pencil Stepan in on the third.

Nothing wrong with Stepan on the third, that's the beauty of having depth. When your 3rd line center has the potential and playmaking skills Stepan has shown, you are in good shape.

Exactly. Look at a player like Pavelski, he was the Sharks 3rd line center for a few seasons behind Thornton and Marleau. Letting a player develop in comfort is the best way to go 90% of the time.

Depth? Rangers? Does not compute?

In all seriousness, Stepan on the third line is fine. Anisimov and Stepan are interchangeable, really.

There was chemistry with Stepan and Wolski last year.

I'm really surprised Wolski is getting first dibs with Richards and Gaborik.

You would think Tortorella would know better. That line has no "jam".

Just another reason why these top 2 lines makes sense:

Dubinsky-Richards-Gabork
Wolski-Stepan-Callahan

However, this doesn't make sense:

Wolski-Richards-Gaborik (too much finesse)
Dubinsky-Stepan-Callahan (no chemistry)

Disagree.

I think the Wolski-Richards-Gaborik line will be able to attack with speed and puck movement which will spread out the D.

Moving Dubinsky to the first adds a little "JAM" (stupid word) sure, but Wolski and Stepan on the 2nd substantially decreases the effectiveness of that line. Which was a physical and defensively responsible game with good offense last year. They were our 1st line last year, getting time against 2nd pairing defense will increase their efficiency IMO.

Yeah, ESPN is going to televise an NHL pre-season game.

the team that has henrik lundqvist on it in scrimmages tends to be the winning team.
