Yeah, teams like Boston that won their first cup in 39 years. A year after going through one of two biggest playoff chokes in history. Always successful. Don't let facts or reality get in the way or anything.

I wonder how many cups the Flames would have won if Iginla wasn't a cancer and didn't destroy Phaneuf's cohesiveness with his attitude (since apparently streaky play = cancerous attitude)

He is arguably the most skilled player in the world behind Crosby, but I wouldn't want him on my team. You have to ask yourself why the Caps always fall short in the playoffs, Semin is a huge reason for that.
If Alex Kovalev can win a Cup, so can Semin. I'm sure there are other non-Euro comparisons too over the history of hockey.

Don't see either teams doing this trade. It is one lazy and more talented player for another lazy more rare type player + spares. Doesn't make sense for either team IMO.

I would start with Stoll ++

Washington has decent centers but if we got Stoll that would allow Laich to play 2nd line LW where he is most comfortable, and center depth is always good.

Michael Ryder

We didn't have to go too far there, did we?

Semin has the potential to score 40 goals, I doubt Washington trades him.

I would agree here depends on what the ++ is.
Maybe Hickey and a 3rd ???
We have a logjam at center position and have to get rid of some.

i mean i really have a mancrush on Stoll but there is always room to improve
