I guess Gomez can do no right. Imagine had he spoken to a Russian media and pooped on the coach or something...

Talk is cheap. He's talked like this before with no results. If he has a decent season people will ease up, but it's on him to deliver.

We're all hoping that he will get better this year. But we're sick of hearing him talk about how he's going to change and then not do anything different. He's dug himself a hole and it's up to him to get himself out of it. It's not just his lack of production either... he really didn't show much effort last year. If he plays better, people will back off.

Well, he has yet to prove that he can play effectively. We all knew he wasn't worth that contract but to be producing and playing the way he has is a disgrace.

I didn't say that he had produced according to some people's expectations. However, it's no reason to crap on him no matter what he does.

In this instance, his comments are exactly what they should be. Yet, people pound him for it. Maybe he should have been interviewed by a Russian newspaper and dissed the coach?

No matter what he does? Maybe he could try playing better to see if he got different results.

As I said above, if he plays better people will back off on him. He's being 'crapped on' by people because he's played like crap and they just assume that's where the pile is supposed to be.

No. People pound him because we've heard this stuff before and he didn't change anything about the way he was playing and didn't produce. People will stop pounding him if and when he plays better. Until that happens, his words don't mean anything.

We're all hoping he plays better next year but until he does, his words are meaningless. And they are especially meaningless because we've heard this speech from him before.
