Brodeur vs Leblanc

Brodeur and Leblanc have the same age (born in 1991).

Brodeur: 83 points in 68 games. First in goal ! 9th in points.
Leblanc: 58 points in 51 games.

Brodeur is cut in the first wave ! Cut before Massé, Desimone, Lefebvre, Nattinen, etc.
He's one of the best in Jr, one of the worse in Habs team.

How good Leblanc is ?
What if Leblanc is not labelled as "First round pick" ?

It's a good thing our scouting department consists of more than just guys sitting in front of a computer with their browsers open to HockeyDB.com.

U20 team Canada got it all wrong. That's why they lost against the russians.

U18 team Canada got it wrong also.

Every scouting report was a lie.

We were all duped.

Anyone follow Brodeur, I haven't watched the Maineiacs since Halak and Mathieu Aubin were there but I'm interested in how he went from a career high of 18 goals to 53 the next year. Talk about a huge leap in production, he had a career total of 66 pts in his 2 years in the Q (130 games) yet this year in 68 games he had 83 pts. Perhaps they will invite him back next summer if this go well with him on the Sags.

Agreed, Hoto hit it on the head.

Point is, if the OP is such an expert on stats, why wasn't Etienne Brodeur drafted? why was Leblanc drafted? Must of been a league full of blind scouts.

Scouts are not everything. Some of the best players in the NHL didn't dominate jrs.

You cannot translate those stats in real value of the two players. Leblanc was playing for Montreal with a more defensive system and less offensive linemates. He was injured a good while too.

Who was invited twice to play for Canada ? Coaches know better the real value of players.

Considering a comparision is being made that includes someone being cut from this year's rookie camp, this question could have been asked in the rookie camp thread. Factoring in that this conversation seems to be going nowhere, I have no other choice.
