Kinda wondering what kind of crowd will be up there. More devils or rangers fans. When river rats used to play the wolfpack, obviously there were a lot of Rats fans, but I was getting heckled for wearing a rangers jersey, and it was obvious that they didn't follow NHL hockey like they did AHL. Obviously Albany is still Rangers territory, but just Wondering if those Rats fans will the turn to support their new team's NHL affiliate.
Just an FYI, you have to take myp2p out of the template for the GDT, because the site has been down over 2 months. I don't see them coming up anytime soon.
They moved domains, but I won't publish it online. You can PM me if you want it.

I think they will probably cheer for the Rangers and also the Devil players that played for them.

I knew about this game 4 months ahead of time. I had a friend who worked at the TU Center and she told me about it. I could have gotten tickets for free months in advance. Now, I'm in PA for a new job and I can't even go at all....talk about crappy timing.
I'll be there in a McD heritage Jersey with my gf. Can't wait... maybe hit up the beer garden beforehand. Hoping to see Erixon, MDZ, MZA, Hagelin, maybe McI and would be psyched if any of AA, Step, McD, Dubi or Cally dress. LGR!!

The Biergarten is a great place for a pre-game drink or 2. There are actually quite a few bars down that way. The Pump Station is also a good spot to check out for anyone coming from out of town.

My girlfriend's younger brother worked at the pump station for a couple of years; that's the only way I'm at all familiar with the area. Good beer at the pump station but I'm thinking of the potato pancakes at the bier garten lol... knew I'd spelled it wrong.
99% sure that's not the "real" myp2p, but someone capitalizing on the name recognition. It's like when ATDHE was taken down, a bunch of other places put up sites with ATDHE in the title, but they weren't the real deal.

Yeah you can't go wrong with either spot at all. No worries, I have friends who are my age (23) who have lived there for their whole lives and can't spell it.
Both have really good beer.
There is another smaller place, its on Madison Avenue in Albany called Mahar's that has over 100 different beers. If you are looking to try something new that's the place for you. Its probably a 5-8 minute drive from there to the TU Center too. That's the place I go to. Its pretty much a hole in the wall but the beer is fantastic.

Biergarden is good but it's not within walking distance of Times Union Center (or anything really).
There are a few bars right across the street, and one at the end of the block that is on the same side as the TUC that is usually pretty good (forgot the name of it). Like I said early, best Place to go within walking distance is City Beer Hall for sure.

I love Mahars. It looks like somebodies dining room

I think there is a new bar right around that area (I haven't been there in a few months) that is supposed to be pretty neat. There is never a shortage of bars in Albany, that's for sure.....
