Gotta love it. Obviously wants to show everyone his size is not an issue and will be physical. Ovy is one of the hardest hitters in the game, hes a tank.
He still looks very strong, but has noticeably lost weight in his midsection and it is showing in terms of speed. I'm guessing he worked hard this summer to build muscle and lose the bulk...
Crispy is brutal to listen to on the radio. Pete is good by himself, but gets sidetracked by Crisp. Callahan is used to doing it on his own, so he doesn't get as sidetracked...but is still better without Crispy. I love Crispy on TV though...
I have got to repeat myself here, just to make my point about the weight loss. His listed weight NHL remains the same. I am telling you, this guy has no weight to lose! His body fat has been WAY too low for years! He may be faster, but it has nothing to do with slimming down! I read an article from way back in the days before BU, that his body fat was alarmingly (if that is a word) low,and had trouble with keeping any body fat.
As far as Crispy goes, I agree. I think he sidetracks the other guy!

I really don't know about Wilson honestly. I noticed on the first day of camp and others agreed and started mentioning it to me without any prompting. He looks as big in his shoulders/arms and probably a little bigger in his legs, but his midsection is about an inch or so less...
Dan Ellis had a serious issue with hydration, the Predators sent him to the Gatorade clinic to address it. I'm sure if Wilson has an issue with body fat they'll address it in a similar manner.
All I know is I'm happy with him right now. He appears to have picked up where he left off last season in the playoffs as being engaged, willing to battle, and using his teammates effectively to create offense. I really hope these goals in the preseason pay off in terms of confidence and helps him carry that play into the regular season.
He's extremely skilled, it was his maturity and commitment that was in question. To me, he's made a major step to correcting that coming to camp looking like he worked hard in the offseason and thus far showing that he really learned from his benching last year in the playoffs. He is saying the right things in the media and really proving it on the ice as well...
Mueller from Weber and Bergfors... it's 1-0 Preds!!!
Two game goal scoring streak for Mueller!

2nd goal of the preseason for Wilson, two assists tonight for Bergfors, and Chris Mueller is now a fight away from a Gordie!
Was checking the updates on my phone for tonight's game. Mueller is really making a case for a job on the 4th line. From what I've heard he's been one of the standouts so far. Good to see C.Wilson get involved offensively. He must know he's under the microscope this season. We need him to produce with some veterans departing. Should I be surprised about the shutout. Against Washington who had their two top NHL lines at the game aswell.
Anybody know how Beck performed? I know he was on a line with Storts, which probably mean he didn't get any primetime ice. Still interested.
Ellis is a truck. I don't think size will be his issue. Skating and speed are what concern me the most. He has extraordinarily hockey sense for the juniors - does that translate to the NHL. Can he continue to use his mind to keep himself out of trouble?
Again... he may be small, but the guy is ripped in all the right places.
Obviously it's hard to tell without visuals, but Kyle Wilson has looked good in camp and I've heard a lot of his name thus far in both preseason games he's played in. If Blake is injured to start the year (had his wrist stepped on last night in Florida), I think Wilson might be making a strong push for a roster spot (assuming Fisher is still out and Spaling plays on the wing if he is back)...
I said when we signed him that I thought it was great and he probably had more of a shot at the roster than many people thought. I remember when Columbus sent him down last season and many of their fans thought it was a terrible move, they felt he had earned a permanent spot with the NHL club (and apparently been told so by the front office, so bought a place and then got sent down). 11 points in 32 games isn't terrible, especially from a 4th liner, projects nearly 30 over a full season. Obviously in the same realm as our other 3rd/4th liners and he can kill penalties, clearly a Preds type of player.
Bergfors certainly has potential...put up near a point per game as a Thrasher...if someone can cover him defensively/ he backchecks he will become a very important piece...especially on a team like the Preds that lacks elite offensive threats.
Anybody know if there will be a video recap? Doubtful I know because it wasn't held in an nhl arena.
There was some video tonight on Channel 2 (WKRN) but I wouldn't even call it highlights. Didn't see a goal, just players skating. (One was Weber so it really was the Preds...)
Anyway there may be some but I wouldn't expect much.
The Washington Post article this morning mostly talked about the ice. Never mentioned who scored for the Preds - had to read the boxscore for that. Not sure you could even tell that the Preds were on the ice from the article. Strange.
Maybe they'll say more when we beat the Caps in the regular season.
Derp sorry, I don't really remember anything about Craig Smith. Had enough trouble keeping up with all the Caps numbers. 6 and 20 both looked very sharp for you guys though. Also Rinne's ridiculous glove saves are even cooler in person (and up close, very small arena) than on TV.
