Emelin played great the last two periods. Very confident with the puck. Didn't make any mistakes with it.

AK will have a great season. I am convinced.

Pretty intense preseason game. Outside of our first line and AK, our forwards really didn't impress me all that much.

Diaz and Yemelin were our 2 best D tonight.

I disagree with Whitesnake on Diaz having the edge over Emelin tonight. They both showed good play on the 3 zones tonight, IMO it's equal. Its first game for them both but I think Diaz needs a year or 2 in the A before jumping pro. I'm still sold on him beeing a surefire NHL'er.

Emelin showed me some glimpse of his already Pro-Career in his KHL. You see he's still learning from the defensive shell man to man defense that JM prones. Its gonna get to him I have no doubt but he's more complete than Diaz ATM. Diaz looks like Weber #2. Doesnt shy away from contact too, quick first steps and good puck poise.

I think we have 2 good top 4 defenseman in those 2 guys

Wth 989?

We could not let it got to 999 before closing it? It would have been sweet!

Thank god hockey is back! That was fun to watch. I really enjoyed the top line, Trotter, Kostitsyn, Diaz, and Yemelin's last half of the game tonight. I also really liked Palushaj's effort though I thought he didn't have the best game. Also I know Pierre mentioned it on RDS but Vincour really was everywhere for Dallas tonight.

Already looking forward to tomorrow's game!

Great to see Cole and Kosty as far as the vets are concerned. The other good guys were mentioned already.

One thing though....while some were incredibly impressed by Trotter, you will never convince me that he is NHL material. Just the same way that you will never convince me that Massé is....AHL material.

Was dissapointed in Palushaj who seems eager to go back to Hamilton. And Tinordi is proving that it will be a long road ahead....as predicted.

Diaz will probably light up the AHL but that's not going to be the issue with him. There's no question about his skill or poise. Can he handle NHLers at 5-on-5 is the question.

Still nice to have a guy like that sub in for injuries this year.

Markov-Yemelin combo when Markov is ready. Definitely.

great to have hockey back. Weber looked great today and Kostitsyn was a beast and dominated with no linemates

Some standouts: Liked what I saw from Trotter, also liked Blunden's speed.

Tinordi seemed like a giveaway machine every time he tried bringing the puck up ice, but was hard on the puck in his own end and fairly physical which is good to see.

Yeah Massé was just god awful, looked like ECHL borderline retire and become a lawyer material. He wasn't good at all one bit.

Blunden surprised me, I thought he was alot slower, he also threw his body alot and made some nice plays.

We're Doomed!!! Price

On a serious note, Yemelin is an NHL defenceman already, Diaz looked good, a little shaky at times. Woywitka was pretty much as advertised I guess.

Sadly Berger was invisible, wish he could've had some better linemates. Palushaj didn't do himself any favours, neither did Trotter. His supposed puck handling skills he learned in the KHL didn't make their way overseas.

Cole could end up being our leading goal scorer if he plays like this the entire season, Kostitsyn looked very interested, wish he'd shoot more.

Which is EXACTLY why I put Diaz on top of Emelin tonight. You didn't see how many times Emelin was taking the wrong guy tonight compared to Diaz? Was way more a chicken with no head than Diaz was. Again, it's just one game. Reason why I don't have Diaz on my starting lineup and Emelin in the AHL (though we know, Emelin didn't come here to play with the Dogs....). Yet, Diaz showed me more on the PP, patience, good shot. While he doesn't like to be hit, he was still ahead positionaly than Emelin tonight. Again...don't get me wrong....I'm not writing off Alexei...obviously.
