This is good for us imo. We get to see how our rookies / prospects fare against real NHL talent and not a bunch of other prospects.

It'll give Budaj a quality start as well.

You guys really need to stop looking at the glass half empty all of the time.

Hopefully all those Sabres players aren't as "in to it" because they already have spots on the team.

Habs win 5-4

haha. Well you never know. Most of the boys dressing for the habs are young guys who want to make an impression, and they will be excited and charged up to play a full NHL team. I also think Buffalo could take them lightly and look at it as a joke like most people here seem to be

That's perfect!

This will be a good challenge for our young players. Looking forward for the Gorges-Beaulieu pair. We'll see if Beaulieu can play NHL quasi-calibre games.

Hahaha, this will be interesting. Let's say I won't put too much weight on the result...

My only wish about tonight is to see a Desharnais-Gionta-Gallagher line for at least 1 shift (obviously not for cause of any injury!)

I do think this is gonna be a huge evaluation of Palushajs game. (probably spelt his name wrong).. if he can't handle a pre-season form NHL team.. he's going to enjoy his buss rides to AHL games.

Is that Henry on the top pairing?

Those rookies are probably getting their affairs in order lol

I think it'll be a low scoring affair. 3-1 Habs

Watching Palushaj last night, you can see he is clearly not NHL ready. I'm sure he was nervous, but nothing impressive from him

With the type of lineup Buffalo has, it will be an excellent test tonight to see how our kids play in our zone, without the puck.....

Exactly, but I'd like to see if it was just nervs or if he really isn't NHL ready.

His big weakness has gotta be his size. He's got the speed, but can't do anything with it once he gets easily pushed aside by NHLers.

I don't mind, it's probably ideal for the habs. They get to see how their prospects manage against real competition.

From what I've read about him in training camp and scrimages, it seems to be a lot more than nerves and more like not NHL ready.

But another year in the AHL won't hurt him, we have enough depth that we don't need to rush him. We can call someone else up to play on the 4th line in case of injuries and move Moen up to the 3rd line and have AK or DD move up to the top 6 if we get an injury in the top 6.

I'd laugh if they somehow pull off the win with a totally depleted roster and Budaj in nets

Honestly I would never wish injury on a team of players but if they do get an injury or two our of this I can't help but laugh. Icing a full team in preseason against a rival?... I know we're the habs but come on.

You have to consider veterans aren't there to prove themselves. The kids willl be motivated and may outwork the veterans. It may be closer than people suggest.

Apparently a must-win for Buffalo

I say we lose this one 6-2. Gallagher and Patches.

I don't see any increase risk from playing their lineup. If anything, their players will be more prepared for when the regular season starts.

I also don't care if we lose every single pre season game, I'm more interested in seeing certain players step up at the right times.

Who cares if they light us up when Masse / St Denis / Henry / Lawson / Mayer are on the ice.

Ellis, Foligno, Adam, Kassian, Persson, Scheistel, and Gragnani will not be regulars in the Sabres lineup. And as has been previously mentioned, the Sabres have an early start to the season this year.

This isn't nearly what some of you are making it out to be

our Defense will be better tonight and even if Buffalo have almost a full team I think the Habs might win their first pre season game. Rookie can beat veteran in pre-season it happen all the time

I expect the Habs to have a good start and score quick goals.

5-4 habs

Avtsin
Beaulieu
Gionta
Darche
Gallagher
