Atleast PuckU seems to be in regular season form already....he don't need no stinkin preseason. (just like Doughty)

Also Leaf fans are booing cause even preseason tickets probably cost them a weeks salary.

If you are a sports fan, there isn't anything better.

Center Ice on DirecTV is awesome compared to any cable system. All HD and both feeds when available. Plus you get the post game shows when broadcasted.

DirecTV

Simmonds was fantastic tonight, he's going to be fan favorite again here. He just fits into the Flyers system so well

Schenn hasn't done anything remarkable yet, he's been used defensively for the most part.

On one side, awesome news for him and I hope he flourishes wearing the letter, but also shows the ridiculous overall that team has experienced in a very short period.

It took me a whole period to figure that out. I just thought he switched helmets. He looked good out there tonight.

I have Time Warner and I get the NHL network. I was able to watch the game here and they both looked solid. Schenn is pretty damn quick and Simmonds does look bigger this year. I like the trade but I wll really miss Simmonds.

It was a split squad preseason game....dont think Simmonds will be wearing the A come regular season as long as the Flyers also have Briere, Hartnell, Meszaroz, & Timonen.

They already announced Pronger as the "C" with Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere as alternate captains.

Looking at the box score Schenn led Flyers forwards in ice time for the game against Toronto and had an assist on one of the goals... Has he just not been noticable?

Schenn to me looked like the Schenn of last pre-season. He had SO many good chances but just couldn't bury them. I thought he looked great otherwise, but I thought he was good last pre-season too.

He didn't stand out at all. But it is preseason after all.

He showed a lot of energy in the offensive zone, but in the DZ he wasn't impressive at all. he and Sean Couturier had the most ice time (each with 17 minutes plus) but Couturier was the best player on the ice alast night ,and not just due to the Goal and Assist. He played hard and smart, was always in position and played both sides o f the puck well. He was very impressive in the DZ, esp on the PK. ON the 5-3 kill, he played his center position perfectly, using his body and stick to tie up the lane. Leafs couldn'[t do anything but pass around. As soon as Schenn took over for him, that ended, Schenn was out of position and a bit undone and the LEafs pressed the net. I found Schenn not as cofident playing in the DZ and in the OZ. And that's what the OHL scouts said of his play last year and Murray as well, tjhat his defense game needed work.
THe Flyers were so impressed with Couturier last night they signed him to an entry level contract.
Schenn is playing tonight between Talbot and Matt Read (Who was the 2nd best forward last night, very strong game). I expect Lavvy will try to give Schenn a lot of ice time.

to be fair his assist was winning a faceoff back to Carle, who shot and Simmer tipped it in

Thanks guys, I know how misleading boxscores can be sometimes so I was curious as to what the story was since it looked like he was fairly solid in that game.

Just don't tell Kurrilino that winning faceoffs leads to goals...
