I doubt he bolts for Russia. He's knocking on the door. This may not be his year but I think he'll win a spot on the roster next season.

Not really. Also, wouldnt answer if he'd 'accept' playing in AHL this season RT @ErikFoley Was Lokti joking about being mad if sent down?
First of all, Loktionov probably doesn't have as wide a range in vocabulary in the English language. Maybe he didn't know the word for "disappointed" or "frustrated."

As for not answering if he'd accept playing in the AHL this season, that again can get misconstrued.

This isn't a knock against the Mayor, but there's a language and cultural barrier that can be very distorting. I'm not saying it's impossible for Loktionov to refuse to play in the AHL, but let's consider the variables here.

If Loki's not good enough to make the team, send him down. I think he could be good enough to make the team this year, but maybe not. If not, then send him down. I don't buy he has nothing to prove either. Staying healthy would be the first thing to prove. Lets not forget he's played a grand total of 83 games the last two seasons. A full season in the AHL, playing top minutes on a team which lost some offensive talent in the off-season would be better than 4th line time in LA or as someone suggested, the 13th or 14th forward. Loki's 21, he's got time to come up. Even if he's on the farm, he's likely going to be the first recall in case of injury or anything else, so he'll likely see time with LA anyways.

I hope he doesn't get mad and bolt to Russia. I just don't think that'd be a positive turn of events for him.

We're kind of set at center with Kopitar, Richards and to a lesser extent Stoll. I love Loktionov, I think he's got intangibles and offensive vision, but let's be real, this is Terry Murray's team. He doesn't really fit unless he takes away Stoll's job or one of the top 2 guys go down. Trade him to an NHL team that could use him.

If you saw Loki's interview with Evans, you'd realize any sorta response in English should be taken with a grain of salt.

i dont see why he doesnt fit Murrays style. He is a 2 way centre, that is pretty Much Murrays favourite type of player. I dont think we will see much of him this year, only as an injury call up, but i expect him to centre the 3rd line next year and for the near future

Loktionov will fit in nicely when Stoll leaves next summer.

And even if he is in Manchester he can be brought up should one of the 3 centers get injured. And going forward he will be a much more valuable player than Stoll.

Trading him would be a mistake.

I'm a fan of MayorsManor, but what he said on Twitter about Loki was pretty classless imo. Loki barely knows any English, and judging from the quotes, someone who doesn't know him as much would think something different than what Lokti was trying to say. The Mayor should know better than this...

I said this about Holloway and I'll say it about Loki. Leaving now is crazy, if your the next in line for the Kings your almost guaranteed 15 games this year. Last year the Kings were almost freakishly healthy, I don't see that being the case this year, let alone with Gagne/JW on the team.

I thought so... But that may have been the K.C. game... I also thought the Phoenix game was televised through the Yotes website. So that might be something to look into as well. I vaguely remember last year being able to catch parts of both games online somehow.

As far as Loki goes, I've said it before on these boards, but I just don't see where he fits in for at least another year... If the rumors are true that the Kings consider Loki at wing a failure that means he'll make the team as a Center and with Kopitar, and Richards signed long term that leaves the 3rd and 4th line open for Loki. Stoll will center the third line this year at least and could is good enough in that role where I'd like to see him there for another year or two if he resigns. You'd have to think that one of Richardson or Lewis is going to get the first shot at the 3rd line shutdown center role if Stoll leaves after this year. That leaves Loki as at best a 3rd line center in two years time... I just don't see that happening as he's like Moller where his game is tailor made to be a top two line skilled forward and struggling in a checking role.

I think that, if we keep Stoll past this year, we'll switch him to the wing and move him back to centre for key draws when needed. Having him on the wing on the third line with Loki would be great insurance for the kid in his first year of full time hockey and I think Stoll's game can transfer easier to the wing than some of the other skill guys could.

He's only in because they had Richardson take Gagne's spot.
