Let the rumors begin!

Either Conks or Salo are injured or there's a trade on the horizon.

well crap... this may sound like im not happy..... and im not, well kinda... sorta.... lol, let me explain

im happy he got recalled cause im been REALLY interested to see how he does in the big league..... but im upset because i dont think he'll get that chance.... now that conklin is hurt im sure macT will just ride salo until conks is better, we all know how macT doesnt like to give kids a chance..... and *this* is why im upset.... salo has played VERY badly so far, and now hes gonna just get MORE icetime..... pisses me off.....

i guess macT might prove me wrong about him, but i doubt it

That's the one.

For those who don't know Conklin had a groin injury against Colorado and is day to day.

a pulled groin is not to be taken lightly when you're a goalie. Valiquette is probably called up as a precaution...but I'd expect Salo to get every start until Conk's status is confirmed.
MacT is old school and he'll stick to his starters.

Yes conks is hurt, that's why he didn't finish the game in Colorado. (Groin) don't know how bad yet, I'll ask at practice on Saturday.

That's a shame. I hope they throw Val in for at least one game. I remember when Conklin played two games a couple of years ago. He looked really good. Same could be true if we give Val a chance.

Except that what does playing Valiquette do for Salo's confidence? You don't kick a guy when he's down, esp. if he's on your side!

Really, playing Valiquette right away against the Flames sends a message that some AHL guy is a better bet than your so-called #1 goalie, and I think that sends the wrong message.

You start Salo in the next couple of games & see how he does. Valiquette plays only in relief if the score's already lopsided (either way) or if Tommy gets injured (duh).

I dunno, a 2.26 GAA and .921 SV% doesn't look that shabby to me...

Frankly, I think you do kick him, square in the rear end. You send the message that if Tommy isn't going to play like a #1 goalie, he's not gonna be the #1 goalie. Let him play against Columbus, but after his recent performances, put him on the pine.

His stats are good... but he hasn't been particularily sharp, and has been up and down so far.

His stats are good?????????????????
For 1985 maybe.
Salo has been a major disappointment this season. Along with Brewer. Something has to give and this team will be forced to do something if they can't tread water against Calgary and Columbus in the next two games.
Smyth is not a center.
Pisani is not an everyday NHLer.
Reasoner is not second line player.
We have no legit top 4 d-men.
Hemsky, at 20, has been our best offensive player, not that that's bad, but someone has to step up.
Arrgggg.

Tommy is the 47th ranked goalie in terms of save percentage. I vote he sits and Valiquette plays against Calgary. Interesting also that #48 is Jussi.
