Interesting. His minor league track record isn't all that impressive and this team more than most NEEDS to win!

Ironically.... both coaches hired have ties to the Portland Pirates. Gardner won a Calder Cup with Portland in 93-'94

I did not get to see any of their games, but I was not terribly impressed with him with the RiverKings last season. The only reason I followed them was because of Alex Pechurskiy (sp?) being there. Jeff Christian was playing there. Gardner repalced Ken Kamicki (sp?).

I've heard through other people that Riverkings fans weren't a fan of the guy. He must have been that bad that HockeyDB didn't collect his coaching stats from there. Lol

Which guy? I could understand either one. I hope that the RiverKings do well in the SPHL. I plan on following them online this season.

I recently heard him on NHL Radio interviewed as he used to coach Lokomotiv, and said he knew about half the players/trainers that were killed in the recent plane crash-
Before that said that due to a "loophole" in his contract he was no longer in Memphis, and was now looking for work- a hockey guy in Mississippi from Canada looking for work-
So for his sake I am glad he found the Bloomington "opportunity"- at least it beats looking for work-

"loophole"? Wonder what that was?

That Bloomington job sounded insulting. Paying Christie a lot less than he earned last year AND wanting him to be a salesmen from Bloomington to Peoria.

Blaze GM Jim Riggs resigned from the team today. This is not looking good.

LOL. The funny part is the owners. We wanna be about the hardcore fan. Didn't know Bloomington had many to begin with. Thats NOT the way you do it anymore. The DelDuo are a train wreck. If they even take the ice I will be SHOCKED
