Any chance we'll get live streams of this game ?
I'll be in a class for parts of the game so I might be able to watch parts of the game on my laptop

Only 2 decisions left for Martin

1 - assuming Markov is healthy to start the season, who is the 6th D? Emelin or Weber?

My guess is it's Emelin simply because he'll return to Russia if he's not at least #6. It's not fair for Weber but he'll have to have an incredible training camp to earn the #6 spot. He'll be #7 and play occasionally.

2 - Where will Desharnais play? Second line center with Gionta and MaxPac? Third line winger with Eller and AK? Fourth line center with Darche and Moan?

I'm really baffled as to what Martin will choose to do with DD? I'm going off the board and putting DD in between MaxPac and AK46! How's that?

Give Gomez a chance at redemption on the 2nd line. Start Desharnais on the third with Eller and AK. If Gomez falters or DD is on fire, you can then play with your lineup.

according to many media folk, it looks as if the 4th line center role is Engqvist's to lose as he will be playing in his 3rd straight game tomorrow night.

He could be in the process of losing it.

Disagree...I don't think he's necessarily done anything to lock down the spot, but I also don't think anyone else has done enough to wrestle the job away from him. I think the plan all along was to have Engqvist step into this role this year, they groomed him all of last year in the AHL for this and now his former coach, is assistant coach in Montreal.

Engqvist plays well positionally, is reliable in his own end, he's a right handed shot and can win some faceoffs...

The only guys who really stand to challenge him are Brock Trotter and Aaron Palushaj...and I think the onus is more on them to show JM they're worthy of that 13th forward spot.

Still needs to improve his faceoffs bigtime, but at least we already know he's a good penalty killer.

Engqvist does a lot of the little things that make him valuable in Martin's eye and that give him the edge to get the 4th line center spot. He doesn't take any risks and always thinks defense first. Has soon as his linemate looses the puck, he's getting back in a position to help the d-men. He's not flashy by any stretch of the imagination but he brakes up a lot of plays and will gain confidence offensively in time. I think he's almost got the spot locked up already.

a 4 th line of Moen - Engqvist - White(Darche) shouldn t hurt us much defensively.

Montreal vs Ottawa: How to watch

I realized this game isn't on RDS. It seems that it is not on any networks, but there are always games that aren;t televised on nation TV yet still have been recorded for the purpose of showing highlights. Does anyone know of anywhere this would be streaming online, or atleast where I could find a link for the play by play. thx

From 9-10pm, RIS is showing Montreal vs. Ottawa according to the Videotron guide. Your guess is as good as mine as to what exactly they're going to be showing in that hour, but at least it's something.

We'll probably have a better idea of streams as we get closer to game time.

thanks, just realized that team990 has the play-by-play as well. so that might do if we are only going to see pieces on RIS

Just one problem.....you have to be able to skate to play in the NHL and be effective.

Umm, not really. Many guys succeed with below average skating. His skating isn't horrible, he would be far from the worst in the league. He wouldn't be the worst on his team either, look no further than Hal Gill.

Agreed he's about half a step slow, however, he does compensate by being strong positionally. I also find he's pretty crafty in the offensive zone when the puck is deep, he's got a long reach and it helps him get shots off or find teamates.

Couple times last game he turned back from the forecheck to find his defensive assignment.

At least once it looked like he had a chance to win the puck on the boards but peeled away to make sure he didn't get caught up ice.

Great defensive awareness but he's got to balance his game a bit more.
