How do we know it is a Flyers fan who did that (and why would a Flyers fan do that to one of their own?). Let's just call it as some inbred idiot from Ontario. Hopefully this imbecile is caught and given some street justice.

I heard Drew was there and beat the guy in the parking lot after the game. Yes, he's not at TSC, he's in London police custody at the moment.

Regardless it's disgusting that things like that happen let alone in a public sporting event like that. Hope the ***** got it from other fans.

A strong willed player like Simmonds isn't going to let something like this bother him but still, apalling. Simmonds is a class act.

"We certainly don't condone such a foolish act (like this) as a player could potentially be seriously injured."

Really? This was a racist act, and this guy is just talking about how a player could be injured? Yes they could, but focus on the real issue.

"Next time think of the players safety before you do something so stupid and shamefully ignorant".

"Try singing negro spirituals or just reverting back to good old fashioned name calling".

What a completely idiotic stance to take. How about commenting on the racist shameful inexcusable act itself. Ef safety in this situation, how about some dignity? How about a little recognition that this game isn't like the rest and we don't tolerate such garbage.

SHameful stupid behavior.

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

The league will need to make a statement about this. They can't let this get out of hand...European soccer has struggled with this for years...the league needs to act on this in my opinion. There's no place for this in the game.

I've heard peeps yell some pretty foul things about Simmonds at games before with racial undertones, but I usually just blamed it on Alcohol(they were Philly fans, but I don't consider it a characteristic of Philly fans )

The league needs to say something about this, but it's literally up to the fans to police it.

Eh, INJURY is the priority, then one moves down the line to motivations.

Yeah...Bettman said, this was the act of a lone person and isn't indicative of most of our fans...yada yada yada...I don't need to be stroked. I need to know the league is empowering and teaming up with fans to nip this in the bud. It's a hate crime pure and simple...

Using it as an opportunity to tell everyone how great the average fan is wastes an opportunity.

Also many Canadian Hockey pundits are telling us we should ignore this idiot... This guy didn't run onto the ice or a baseball field... he committed a hate crime. You don't fix the problem by ignoring it just because you don't wanna give this idiot attention. Maybe it's because this happened in a Canadian arena and they're too embarrassed by that fact to want us to discuss such a patently heinous act.
