[QUOTE=LeftCoast;36951483]Trevor Linden was a "warrior" and one of our leading playoff scorers in the Dallas series in 2006. He put up 15 points the following year and retired.

For many players, the fall off in skills is precipitous. Doan hasn't shown that massive fall off (yet), but you don't trade a 25 year old first round draft pick for a guy who MIGHT have 2 seasons remaining in his career.
Hmmm when was lindens last good offensive season? Linden was not a good offensive player for years before he retired

If Doan has a good year, take a run at him at the deadline. I don't know why people would want to dramatically overpay at this point for a guy that looks like he might be a 20 goal scorer now.

20 goal scorer but remember 2 things, he's an absolute warrior. AND he'd be on our SECOND line.

THat being said, getting him at the deadline would pretty much lock him in as a PURE rental (unless PHX is rumor'd to move by May)

I said he played through a ton of injuries. Didn't say he missed a lot of games due to injury.

Umm... you said Markus Naslund was done at age 33. I said he wasn't. What you wrote above does not disprove the fact that Naslund was still a productive scorer past the age of 33.

Doan has a NMC, and from what he has said about Phoenix, he intends on staying there.
