Russo Tweets

Backstrom: "It's just fun to have 20 guys play in the system and battle hard for each other. That’s a good start." ....

If you know Backstrom, that's a message quote from Backstrom. He was frustrated last year the way the Wild would stray from the system

I still like Zidlicky. He does have a fair share of his own flaws but overall, I like what he brings to the team.

Unlike my fake hatred of Spurgeon, I truly dislike Zid.

That said, Zidlicky is far more valuable than Spurgeon. Its not close. Spurgeon probably has a better $ value but that doesn't mean Zid isn't still quite a bit better at hockey than him.

Aside: Isn't a Tweet from Hackett on game day now illegal?

They played well when Zidlicky was out and Burns was a Norris candidate. They played horrible when Zidlicky was out and Burns was the inconsistent defenseman. This year there is no Norris candidate.

I believe it's fine after any post-game talk or media engagements are taken care of.

You might want to edit that bit out, unless you want Russo at your door screaming "SPURGEON" through a megaphone.

They must have thought 3 Stars meant what NHL stars are playing.

At least they are making their mistakes in preseason.

Heh. Went to look at those 3 stars, ended up on Warren Paters NHL page. Click on his photo and browse through the live photos on there. Pretty much every one of them he's got the oddest look on his face...

Also, I'm one of the few Zidlicky fans I guess.

I'm a Zidlicky fan (and he's my fiancee's second favorite Wild player) but it's hard to cheer for a guy when he's not on the ice.

Wasn't televised so we won't know until tonight (I believe he's in the lineup). He looked raw but exciting in public scrimmages.

Spurgeon isn't being overrated by Russo...he's a good young player who's actually playing well. We haven't seen a prospect out of nowhere actual doing well since Clutterbuck IMO. And (GASP) maybe Spurgeon didn't peak at 20 years old lol
