Akeson is to old for JRs. There are a few guys just practicing at Vorhees and he seems to be one of them. The beat guys seem to think they are going straight to the AHL.
I liked what I saw in Akeson, just haven't heard his name in a while.
walker with a big open ice hit and fight. I would like walker as the 6th over Lilja and Bart. Cap hit is too high but i would really like walker or gus as the 6th d-man
They didn't. Both got 5. Less than 5 in period. Just went to lockers.

Well, those that are competing for the final spot(s) on forward pretty much all have impressive games so far.
Wellwood has been really good on the pk, not just tonight but earlier in pre-season as well. Read's vision and puckhandling isn't matched by many other players on the team. Couturier isn't making a fool of himself in any way. Holmstrom has a pretty good game so far as well. Sestito isn't the best player defensively, but could perhaps take Shelley's spot if they want to have a big guy on the fourth line.
Maybe guys like Nödl and Betts should be a bit worried, after all.
As for the regulars: Hartnell is at least always entertaining. I think he's been pretty good actually, too bad he couldn't score with the open net though. Meszaros is quietly having a pretty good game as well.
